GOM - PV Water Taxi

Description

GOM Passenger Vessel - Water Taxi

A foil assisted, repurposed Racing Catamaran

Update:
Added 4x 3x3 Fan radiators, you can now go for ~16km at 210 knots top speed before overheating.
If you reduce the speed to ~200 knots the temperature will now settle around 108°, so you're now able to go a constant 200 knots until the fuel runs out.

Operation:

How to start:
  1. Head to the pilot seat
  2. Move the desired RPS lever above 2
  3. (Optional) Activate foil assist on the panel abovehead for max. speed, watch the temperature

How to stop:
  1. Move the desired RPS lever all the way to 2
  2. (Optional/Emergency) Use the "Kill Engines" flip switch above head

Moving:
For regular operation no further action is needed, the vessel will automatically engage/disengage both engines depending on the desired RPS (2=engines off).

Foil Assist:
When activating foil assist on the instrument panel above head, the vessel will try to lift the entire hull above the waterline. Driving at a top speed of 210 knots is only recommended during clear weather and for as long as the temperature stays below 105°, it is advised that taxi pilots reduce the desired RPS lever until the temperature drops below 100°, it will still be plenty fast.
A temperature warning system is in place to remind pilots to reduce the throttle lever when overheating is imminent.

Boarding:
The Water Taxi features a boarding ramp at the bow, and 2 boarding gates in the aft section of the deck, port and starboardside respectively.

Winches:
The bow winch has a control panel nearby, same for the huge stern winch.
All winches at the stern (1x huge, 3x medium) share the same control panel.

DVD:
Passengers can watch DVD.

Generator:
Each engine comes with an autoclutch Generator, that will keep batteries at full charge.

Heater:
An automatic heater is installed in the cabin, set to 21°. No negotiations.

Radio:
Half Duplex Radio Channels 0-8 and adjustable frequency (Range: 40 km)

About the vessel:

This vessel is a former racing catamaran and has been repurposed as a water taxi for rapid passenger transportation.

It has self-righting capabilites, features a storage compartment in the aft section of the deck. Engines can be inspected by the engine access hatch, in case of overheat damage a single welder can be found in the storage compartment.
Bilge pumps will get rid of any water inside the cabin and hull sections.
