EMD F40PH Metra Commuter 2015 Scheme

Metra is a commuter rail system in the Chicago metropolitan area serving the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. The system operates 242 stations on 11 rail lines.[1] It is the fourth busiest commuter rail system in the United States by ridership and the largest and busiest commuter rail system outside the New York City metropolitan area.

This train is modeled after their EMD F40PH series of locomotives. The passenger train is based off the many commuter trains Metra runs in Chicago today. This locomotive is rocking the new livery that has been painted on some of the F40s. After my recent trip to Chicago and riding on Metra I really wanted to model a train that was similar to the train I rode.

The train features a few different types of commuter cars. Right behind the locomotive is a repainted pullman car used for commuters then the other cars are a mix of Budd and Amerirail Gallery cars and Gallery Cab Cars, finally the train is topped off with an Budd Cab car used for Push-Pull operations.

Train functions as a regular passenger train but due to its length some additional consideration might be needed when setting up passenger stations for it. Consult the "How to use very long passenger trains, building station complex" by REV0
