Halloween Jack-o-lanterns

A collection of Halloween Jack-o-lanterns for use in your own custom L4D2 campaigns. It also includes a small candle prop and 2 normal pumpkins. The Jack-o-lanterns have 2 skins. You can choose between a lit version and unlit version for each Jack-o-lantern, with the exception of the bird-shaped one, which for reasons unknown refuses to switch skins (I gave up trying to get it to work). You can tie the skin swapping functionality to a button and trigger the skin-swap ingame, to allow the player to light the pumpkin. The candle has a self illuminating texture, but for the best look, add the candle flame model (comes with L4D2) and a glow sprite on top of it.

HOW TO INSTALL:

Make sure the L4D2 authoring tools are properly installed. Subscribe to the mod and then open the vpk in the 'left4dead2/addons/workshop' directory. Extract the contents of the 'materials' and 'models' folder to the equivalent folders in your main left4dead2 directory. Make sure the file names and locations remain the same, or you will end up with textureless models. The correct filepaths are:

Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/materials/models/gwpumpkins/ *textures*
Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/models/gwpumpkins/ *models*

and

Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/addons/ *yourmodfolder* /materials/models/gwpumpkins/ *textures*
Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/addons/ *yourmodfolder* /models/gwpumpkins/ *models*

Now fire up Hammer, place a prop_static, and browse for the models. They should now show up in the list. When you package your mod for distribution, you will need to include the same files.


ATTRIBUTION:

The Jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins were extracted from Guild Wars 2. If you use these models, no attribution needs to be given to me. Feel free to package them into the vpk of your mod. Happy Halloween!
