Ethnos [SCRIPTED] (with scoring calculator)

Description
This is an unofficial scripted mod of Ethnos. It uses re-hosted components from the mod by Jamo.

Features
  • Scripted setup with optional tribe toggling and random start player selection.
  • Automatic card arrangement of the face-up ally market.
  • Button to discard hand to the market.
  • Optional buttons to move markers along tracks (scoring, Merfolk).
  • Automatic Dragon discard and redraw.
  • Scoring calculation helper with UI.
  • Rewind Time support.

Notes
Please report errors/bugs in the comments. Ratings appreciated.
Retheme Wanted: contact me if you've done a quality retheme and would like me to incorporate it into this mod.
  • Before scoring, group bands into decks. If the leader is a Dwarf, make sure it is the top card of the deck.
  • Everything inside outlined areas will be counted towards scoring. Scoring accounts for all tribe abilities and tokens.
  • Scoring will display calculated numbers only (it will not move markers or set up the next age). Scores may be calculated any number of times. It does not need to be used.
  • When manually lapping around the score track, flip your score marker (for determining first player at the start of the age).
  • Drawn lines may be deleted. Rewind Time will redraw the lines.
  • I recommend using Rewind Time if many cards are drawn at once by accident. If Dragons are returned to the deck, automatic Dragon discard and redraw will stop working (for those Dragons) until the next age.

About the Game
Ethnos (2017)[boardgamegeek.com]
In Ethnos, players call upon the support of giants, merfolk, halflings, minotaurs, and other fantasy tribes to help them gain control of the land. After three ages of play, whoever has collected the most glory wins!

In more detail, the land of Ethnos contains twelve tribes of fantasy creatures, and in each game you choose six of them (five in a 2/3-player game), then create a deck with only the creatures in those tribes. The cards come in six colors, which match the six regions of Ethnos. Place three glory tokens in each region at random, arranging them from low to high.

Each player starts the game with one card in hand, then 4-12 cards (double the number of players) are placed face up on the table. On a turn, a player either recruits an ally or plays a band of allies. In the former case, you take a face-up card (without replacing it from the deck) or the top card of the deck and add it to your hand. In the latter case, you choose a set of cards in your hand that match either in tribe or in color, play them in front of you on the table, then discard all other cards in hand. You then place one token in the region that matches the color of the top card just played, and you use the power of the tribe member on the top card just played.

At the end of the first age, whoever has the most tokens in a region scores the glory shown on the first token. After the second age, the players with the most and second most tokens score glory equal to the values shown on the first and second tokens respectively. Players score similarly after the third age, then whoever has the most glory wins. (Games with two and three players last only two ages.)

I picked up Archeos Society and am about to mod it. I don’t need the scoring scripted but I would appreciate a little help scripting the set up.

I've widened the 'marker' column on the scoreboard ui.

The scoring column that tells you were to move your score marker looks like it is too narrow. Once the score and maybe the movement gets to the double digits, the target score gets cut off.

@Citadel Maybe that has something to do with the player's screen resolution. I'll remember to increase that column width at some point.

For some reason, one of our players could not see the full text of the "Marker" column. He could see "XX to" and then the final number is cut off. Any ideas? The other 2 people could see everthing properly.

Excellent job, thanks so much!

I've just realised my mistake! Only learnt the game yesterday. I thought that halflings counted as two so that you can get points easier. But I think I see now that actually there are just 2 times the amount of halflings in the deck, is that right? I suppose that's the type of thing you can miss in a scripted game. My bad, great job on the mod!
