Queensland Rail English Electric 1620 Class

Description
First appearing in January 1967 the 1620 class was built by English Electric in Rocklea, Queensland. 34 were produced for use on lightly laid branch lines, equipped with autocouplers and a 6 cylinder 1,012 horsepower 6SCRKT engine the locomotive proved highly effective with the last 4 being retired from service in December 1995.

Technical Specs:
Top Speed: 80km/h (50 mph)
Power: 755 kw
Tractive Effort: 135 kn
Weight: 63 tons
Available from 1967 - 1995

(Has the standard gamut of stuff, custom sounds, aging, LODs and the like, although the model is fairly light.)

Another personal project I thought I'd share, since we have the wonderful Queensland EMU's now this should pair nicely with it. :) I was hoping to get into the museum and get a ton of reference photos for making the cab but apparently 'Budgies Blue Baby' isn't on public display, so until I can I'll have to settle for a low detail stand in. :( And yes, the scale *IS* correct, this locomotive is TINY.

Coming up soon-ish™ will be the QR SX and SXV stainless steel passenger cars so this has something more fitting to tow and the NZR General Motors DF/DFT Class.

Cheers all, take care.

Appreciate it, thanks for that

No problems mate, have a look now, it was set to hidden for some reason. :/

I will be remaking some of the older stuff when I get the time. :D

Hate to be a pest, but did you happen to remove your Queensland Rail English Electric 2350 Class mod from the workshop as it doesn't appear in search results.

There are enough that one could do a total conversion of this game if they had the time and skill. Hell, just between 1865 and 1881 we had more than 15 classes of steam locomotives alone, ranging through 2-4-0, 0-4-2, 2-6-0, 4-4-0 and even a class of 2-8-0 before settling into the familiar 4-6-0/4-8-0 pattern of designs that took up most of mid-era QGR. A copy of 'Locomotives of the Tropics: Vol 1' is rather useful in this regard and has recently had a new print run. Well worth a read

I do indeed have plans to do steam. I have many plans. Far to many to be honest! :)
For steam stuff I'm going to have to learn to do a decent chunk of animation, though it should be a fun change.

The C17 looks like a fun project, I'll add it to the list! :)

I'll hit you up when I start working on it.
Thanks for the support! :)

oh, i know that feeling. I have been collecting drawings, plans and the like for a planned model railway that has not got off the ground (as of yet). There seems to be a lot for steam but not alot for diesels

Reference stuff is always the hardest to get for QR. Same problems I have with my Kiwirail stuff. Half the time I have to buy plans from Kiwirail to figure out what half this stuff is and what it does.
I've got some good stuff for QR in the form of the rollingstock handbooks. (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/eown67klqfsg7e2/AAA70CpD6_OqMEb_MoQTryU5a?dl=0)
These have come in quite handy, but one can never have enough reference material. :D

I had originally wanted to learn to mod (but life got in the way, as usual lol) and had always wanted to bring QGR/QR into the game. I have a lot of reference drawings etc for Stations, watertanks, bridges etc as well as some basic drawings for wagons, coaching stock and some scans of official locomotive engineering drawings from the workshops.

Perhaps I can be of some assistance to such a project.
