Located on an island west of the Khremian continent, the Free State of Osteer distinguished itself by being the only nation that was originally formed as a republic and managed to stave off the tides of failed,violent revolutions that shook the lands centuries ago. For ages Osteer managed to remain neutral amid the turbulent conflicts of the mainland. However, with the Norskyn Dual Kingdom - one of it's greatest trade partner - beginning to ready for war, and starting to increasingly rely on her, on the north and the Slozevsky Regency threatening to invade from the east to cut off supplies, the various merchant houses on the south-east shores, threatened that not taking a side means certain occupation from either country, begin an uprising, turning the country into chaos. Dubbed the "Great Trial of the Osteer Nation" the war soon spreads to the entirety of Khremia, plunging it into war and beginning the Great Trial of Khremia.


Great Trial Begins is a WW1/dieselpunk mod inspired by the likes of Altirus and Delum. It is a world where the progress of technology is slow and the armies are forced to use more outlandish machines to achieve their needs. It's a place where gas warfare is normal, artillery barrage is mandatory, where the battles are not decided by tanks and aircraft, but by landships and airships.

Swerzkyn-Menrae S/S "ESPER"(Osteer Loyalists):

Originally designed as a support vehicle for logistic companies, the Menrae Supply Vehicle had been redesigned by the Swerzkyn company in north Osteer with increased armour, better engine and 4 MGs. The new "Esper" variation was so rushed to fill the numbers after all the other armoured vehicles had been captured by Cellic troops, that most rolled off the assembly line without a proper paintjob. The "Esper" was used as infantry support and mobile bunker for the war and proved more than adequate against enemy small arms fire. However with the rise of trench warfare and the increased use of mobile AT weapons, meant that after the Civil War they became obsolete and only remained service in the Osteer Cavalry Core.

Pechetrik SFS-90 "Pertrach"(Cellic Union):

Built in the Kingdom of Slozevsky nearly a century before the Civil War, the "Petrach" shined in an age where cavalry forces decided the fate of a battle, it was designed to support cavalry charges and break through enemy lines. This meant that even before the war it was obsolete, but their high numbers meant that they were perfect to be sold off to other countries. Appeared in every army of nearly nation on the Khremian continent, the Free State of Osteer was no exception. Cellic units managed to redirect nearly all of them to the south to be used against the Loyalist Government, however their small numbers seemingly never depleted despite the losses. This raised suspicions that the now Slozevsky Regency had supplied the Cellic Union from their own arsenal during the war.
