Salton Class Pre-Dreadnought

Description
The Salton is a small and extremely ineffective ship built to go with a structure I'm working on for my campaign.

The Salton Class is not going to be a normal enemy in the campaign but it is still functional. It's armed with 6 medium torpedoes, 6 large side turrets, 6 small side turrets, 2 main dual barreled guns, 3 simple AA guns and two medium case-mated turrets.

The weaknesses of this ship are rather obvious in combat, pretty much anything, especially submarines, fast flyers and things with missiles.

This build is not meant to be competitive at all in the campaign and was supposed to just be a small quick build, but I decided to post it anyway.

If anyone is interested in submitting a vehicle or structure or building something for my faction please let me know, I'll also gladly take suggestions for ships to use as references or ideas for crafts that would fit in with the rest of the faction. If anyone wants any additional information about the faction or campaign, feel free to message me or comment.

I'm also looking for people to help test out the ships already designed and to provide feedback on potential changes and suggestions along with issues with ships. (on older ships, if steam engines don't work, just message me and I'll update the file)

To pile on even more information, if anyone has any ideas about how to get more submissions or get more community involvement in the campaign, let me know.

As always, feel free to critique or comment on the ship or ask any questions below.

I hope you enjoy the ship!

Maybe, I've got one or two ships lined up, but I enjoyed making this ship. The main issue is trying to make a pre-dreadnought competitive. I might end up making some actual dreadnoughts though which are a lot easier to make competitive.

Will there be more of these old timey ships?

Probably not too many, the thought was that it was a smaller but more technologically advanced alternative to more mainstream ships with much more powerful engines

If you were to use it in a WW1-style campaign, how many would be in the class?

There's a charm to old ships firing inaccurate broadsides at one another, TBH.

She actually is sorta effective in combat.

All the railings were done with mimics/decorations
Flavor Flav 15 Apr, 2021 @ 1:41pm
how did you get the railings like that

Oh well, could be cool in some sort of WW1-type campaign where it could see service.

The idea was that it would have been sitting as a floating museum of sorts at a port (the actual context for making the ship) and called on to fight to defend the port in the campaign as a last ditch effort
