Unit cards+

Description
This is my first mod and its the first one in the Unit card series that i'm working on.

This mod fixes, changes and slightly improves most of the vanilla unit cards in the game to look more accurate to the unit appearance and weapon model in game. While also trying to keep the original art style.

The mod is still work in progress and ill be adding and changing the new Unit cards Based on your feedback.

Enjoy!

Feel free to use the icons in this mod in your own projects but please credit me or post my mod link in your mod description.

compatibility:
Unit cards mod do not work together with this mod on units that are effected. In addition there is a problem that causes unit cards to not work in battle when using Ancient Colors | Emblem Of War EDITION (2020) 1-2 and perhaps other similar mods. My theory is that there is a file that effects unit cards in some way. Its probably only specific to Ancient Colors | Emblem Of War but if you are using a re-skin mod and this happens you now know why.

Thank you very much for this mod! I have stumbled on it while looking for a mod to replace modded unit cards in a large overhaul (Steam version of Darthmod lacks the launcher to disable them) with vanilla-style ones, and your mod does that in spades. And on top of that, your unit cards look slightly sharper, cleaner, somehow easier on eyes than vanilla - in a word, beautiful.

Hi Orendiz, mod is great. However the unit cards are very bright when selecting them. Anyway to fix this issue? Thank you.

i know some people are being sticklers for appearance matching models, but this mod is actually insanely helpful. I've been getting more and more into playing Ikko Ikki lately on my more recent campaigns, and this makes organizing my armies where I have ashigaru of my own mixed with foreign ashigaru much much easier to sort out. All your updates to the cards are very faithful to the original art style while still improving their visual quality and accuracy. Great mod thank you .

btw, can we also change cards in info folder? Since I see it didn't get change in rpfm. Also, another idea is perhaps we can make garrison units having icons to marking them? I saw other mod done this and I think it's a good idea

@Ardir I think it's just you didn't get a better idea of making them "unique". I love what author did with it, because I also using unit remodel mod with editing them myself, and actually makes ikko ikki's ashigaru into bunch of farmer and Sohei wearing armor poorly, and it looks absolutely good for gameplay or historical accuracy whatever else. You know, if you really can't accept it doesn't look like the same as your game does. Either having some unit remodel mods like me or simply just don't use this mod.

Ps:Ps not every ashigaru gets the sohei. Not the commander nor the bannercarrier. It means it's still unit comprised of peasants that by the way are fanatic. They don't get to wear monks' robbes nor shoes and there's still a samurai that leeds 'em. But yeah, they get a sohei.

The argument that you 'wont' is the thing that you've beaten when creating this mod. Sir, you're the very reason we are now sending emojis and virtual hugs in this comment section. All of this would not exist if u were that day to follow the phrase "But I wont".

In short, I disagree, and without diving into the technicalities, you are, were and will be free to exceede the expectations and since that's the case it is up to you as well ⳰⛨⳱

Ps: the ikko ikki also get a little Sohei hood thingy not just a recolor :)

The ikko ikki clan is the only clan to get separate ashigaru units both visually and somewhat functionally from the rest. Since this is the case, they are the only ones i can give a new unit card that looks differently from the rest that reflects their clan's identity. As in: peasant uprising/ikko ikki rebel faction. Without diving into the technicalities, i can with a lot of work make a unique ashigaru card set for each faction with their faction color. But i wont 🙃, It also fits better in my opinion since ashigaru don't differ from faction to faction and the idea remains the same through all factions "peasant conscripts" which would imply in a way some sort of uniformity as apposed to the rebel peasants which would stand out.

In short, i disagree, and due to some technicalities i can only do it for the ikko ikki and i think it's better that way. If you don't like it you are free to not play with my mod.

"regular ashigaru have greyish-green clothes"? On the cards only... unless spawned as ikko-rebels, then not only on cards. Well, I see how unfortunate it is that the only clan that in minimum at least reflects units - depicted in cards - is the Ikko-ikki. Nonetheless, it's not well-thought to ignore this fact and simply repaint clothing on cards to orange. It doesn't fulfil the intention behind the mod Sir :steamsalty:

It's meant to reflect their clan mon/crest/icon color, the regular ashigaru already have the greyish-green clothes for their clothes.
