Description
This mod is outdated and I don't have time to keep it up to date anymore.
If anyone wants to take over, here are the files. You're free to do as you please:

What does this mod do?

The aim of this mod is to provide a less tedious and more action-rich, as well as more challenging experience while playing Stellaris. Main focus of AI improvement is on war behaviour.

Recommended difficulty: Commodore - Grand Admiral

Fleet sizes on Grand Admiral range from 50k to 300k in the year 2300 depending on whether or not an AI empire manages to snowball.

Changes include AI behaviour, several QoL and balance changes as well as fixes.

However, the AI only version will not be tested and supported. My focus is on the main mod. These two mods are mutually exclusive, so choose only one.

These changes will be tested repeatedly and adjusted over time as more test runs will be completed.

Some of the most important changes:

>AI is exponentially more aggressive and will cooperate more against threats during late game.
>AI takes fleet building more seriously and always tries to reach full naval capacity.
>AI received a new economic plan to make it more competitive
>AI received a support system for its economy minister to have it build better
>AI is approaching war efficiently and manages to conquer dozens of systems if left unchecked
>Game is less tedious and faster to play

I will attempt to make AI more powerful during late game in coming updates.

Full list of changes:

Buffs exclusively for AI

>AI behaviour changed to be exponentially more aggressive
>AI behaviour during war changed to be exponentially more strategically impactful
>AI now more determined to build fleets
>AI should now prefer battleships over spamming corvettes
>AI economic plans changed to be more competitive
>AI received an economy support system to help it build more and better
>Crises changed to be massively more aggressive
>AI now more willing to pick "Become the Crisis" Ascension perk
>Increased willingness of AI to organize vs. a threat
>AI more willing to declare a Crisis in Galactic Community
>Increased chance of War of Heaven happening from 60% to 70%

Buffs for AI and player

>Ship speed in systems increased threefold (out of combat)
>War Exhaustion changed to make wars more impactful and less tedious
>Bombardment stances changed to be massively more impactful in their intent
>Truce time reduced to 5 years
>Vassalization of hostile empires through diplomacy now possible if massively more powerful
>Reduced influence cost of resettling pops to 1 per pop
>Removed colony abandonment costs
>Reduced cost of espionage operations
>Reduced days to spawn espionage privateers from 1080 to 30
>Increased effectiveness of promoting or suppressing factions
>Massively reduced time spent on voting and recess in Galactic Senate
>Cooldown for changing species rights changed to 1 year

Nerfs

>Reduced spawn rate of AI Megacorporation empires
>Slightly increased influence cost for claiming systems

Fixes

>Reduced occurence of AI transports hovering in orbit without attempting to invade
>Attempted to fix broken economy of conquered planets by giving more weight to base resources
>AI now actually builds Strongholds

War Minister Behaviour

The war minister AI is what decides which target to attack or defend. In vanilla, this behaves insufficiently good. With this mod, the war minister is able to efficiently choose targets and conquer them.
Green skulls are operations being considered, red skulls are operations being executed.






As you can see, the AI is able to determine the most efficient approach in a war and manages to conquer tons of system within a short timespan.

Compatibility

This mod is compatible with everything that does not touch AI. Make sure to put your other mods before this one to let them overwrite small changes unrelated to AI.

seems to not work with gigastructures as i have yet to see the AI build non-Vanilla fleets

When many people are online, AI declares war but will not take the initiative to attack and occupy your territory

As for Faster Galactic Community:
With my mod, the galactic community is way faster. If you'd rather have it a bit slower, then load the Faster Galactic Community mod after this one.
