Project Eden 1.10 (Obsolete)

Description
For anyone still using this scenario, 1.10.5 will break it.
You will be missing the new block shapes, new NPC models, and other changes.
This will cause errors, including errors that may end your save games or corrupt your blueprints.

As I have said in the past, I do not recommend using this scenario anymore as I am not able to keep it updated with all the game changes.
I have kept it up as a courtesy to the community, but this is very much a "use at your own risk" thing at this point.

Project Eden is currently discontinued.
It will no longer be developed or supported in any way so I can focus my time on making Reforged Eden.
I recommend playing Reforged Eden instead as it will continue to receive updates and new content.
For the explanation about why I am doing this please see this post linked below:

Play at your own risk.
You may encounter issues that break your save games and blueprints while playing this scenario.

Project Eden is a PvE exploration scenario intended for single player or small group play and compatible with dedicated servers.
It adds a massive amount of custom content with a focus on variety, exploration, and long term game play while also including all the default game missions, content, and mechanics.
A huge custom galaxy with new planets, POIs, missions, stars, resources, blocks, weapons, items, and much more.

Singleplayer setup instructions:
To play using Project Eden, simply press the subscribe button on this page, then start Empyrion. If you already had the game open, close it and reopen it. You may need to allow Steam time to download the scenario files to your PC.
Go to New Game, choose Single Player or Co-op, and then select Scenarios. Select Project Eden from the list of available scenarios. Set up your game difficulty settings and choose your starting planet then press start game. You will know you're playing the scenario because it has custom loading screens and you will have a Project Eden Guide item in your inventory.

THE EMPYRION DEVELOPERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CUSTOM SCENARIOS.

Reforged Eden:
A scenario that combines the configuration changes of Vermillion's Reforged Galaxy and the custom content of Project Eden is available on the workshop here: Reforged Eden.

This scenario is designed for weight/volume, autominer depletion, and CPU (but optional and disabled by default).
It may be more demanding on your hardware and takes a few minutes to load.

Features:

Custom Configs:
Uses a full set of custom configuration files to add new crafting components, items, weapons, blocks, NPCs, and a tech tree to the game. The configuration files focus on adding new content and does not alter any of the default game content except to add new items to the loot tables for very rare/ultra rare alien containers.
This should ensure it remains easily compatible with custom config mods such as Reforged Galaxy.

Galaxy:
Uses a combination of fixed sectors and a highly customized galaxy config to randomly generate a large galaxy to explore. Different star types can have different resources, planets, and sectors.

Contains both default and custom planets. 15 starting planet options and dozens of custom planet types.

Contains default and custom moons. Many moons are specialized as a good source of 1 or 2 types of resources, such as iron or cobalt rich barren moons.

Space has received a complete overhaul with new wrecks, pirate outposts, hacking sites, asteroid fields, mining fleets, and special encounters. Content varies with star type.

Progression overhaul to slow down the mid and end game. Sathium/Neodymium/Titanium, and Erestrum/Zascosium are no longer found on the same planets so you have to explore. Ore deposits are smaller and more varied in their styles and some deposits will be a challenge and it's up to you how to tackle it.
Almost all deposits use the SSOR style underground nuggets so they are depleted from auto miners (if depletion is enabled).

Dozens of new traders have been added, including bulk traders who buy or sell large quantities of specific items but not always at the best price. Buy ore from Polaris mining fleets, deliver liquor from a Talon brewery to a Zirax trade station, or sell your hacking loot at a Project Eden research vessel. The goal is to allow progression through playing the role of a trader.

There are many new things to discover and beautiful places to see. Treasures hidden in the thick forests of jungle planets, buried alien ships, and unique capturable vessels are some of what you can find if you look hard enough. Exploration and salvaging is meant to be rewarding.

From small wrecks to alien fortresses, custom asteroids and Talon temples, there are over a thousand new POI prefabs. Many POIs are designs from the community and a list of credits can be found in the guide.

Currently there are several faction POI sets, with about a half dozen major faction sets planned. Factions will have their own traits, weapons, traders, and NPCs.

Missions and Story:
New custom missions powered by the dialog, token, and PDA systems. Explore to find hidden missions and uncover the story. Includes a new Empyriopedia section in the PDA to answer frequently asked questions about the scenario.
Also contains all of the missions from the standard default survival mode.
Note: the missions and story are a big work in progress. More will be added.

Please leave any suggestions or report any problems in the comments, and enjoy your visit to Eden!

Please do not report any game bugs to the Empyrion developers unless you can reproduce it in a default, unmodified game.

Considering buying Empyrion, partly b/c PE makes it seem even cooler. Can a total newbie start here or...?

@ravien_ff Since you no longer wish to maintain this would it be possible to have it open sourced so someone else can maintain it?

I know a lot of people like reforged eden, but I for one don't and much prefer project eden myself. Going to miss it when its gone, but I will continue to run this until Empyrion breaks it fully then look for something new.

-Updated config files for Empyrion game update 1.10.
-Changed recipe for portable constructor to require iron ore to make compatible with Project Eden starting planets.
-Updated game options file.

Project Eden has been discontinued and will no longer receive scenario updates or support.
Thank you to everyone who has played and helped with the scenario over the years!
Please consider playing Reforged Eden instead as it contains everything from Project Eden and Reforged Galaxy combined.

Project Eden is discontinued. No support will be offered and the scenario will not receive any further updates.
Play at your own risk. You may encounter errors with save games and blueprints.

Any news about the update to 1.10?

Hotfix to update hover bike mesh to avoid game ending bug and to add vanilla POIs to the scenario to avoid POI spawn issues.
Will update sometime Wednesday for 1.10. I don't recommend playing this scenario until then.

This will need an update for 1.10 but it may take me a couple days to do so.
I recommend not playing your saves until it is updated otherwise you may experience save game ending errors.
