Description
Adds People's Republic of China led by Mao Zedong to Sid Meier's Civilization V.

People's Republic of China (Mao Zedong)
The Long March
Land Units generate Culture for moving in enemy territory, increased by every Social Policy tree completed or level 3 Tenet enacted. Units below 33% Health receieve +1 Movement Point and double Movement on hill tiles.
Red Guard
Rifleman replacement unique to Mao's China. It is weaker, but a free Red Guard is spawned next to built ones whenever a Social Policy is enacted. A Red Guard stationed in a City costs no maintenance and generates Culture.
Dahuitang
The Dahuitang has an additional Great Work slot, allowing for Great Writers to be expended early on. When all three slots are filled with Chinese works, a theming bonus is activated which grants even more Culture and additional Experience for Units trained in that City.
Notes
  • This mod was authored and originally released by SuperWaffle as part of the Our World project. It is now updated and re-released with his permission. The focus of this update is bugfixing, code optimization and various small changes. However, the original design and concept were left unchanged.
  • Support for Event and Decisions has been discontinued, but the original files and code is still included within the mod.

  • Misc Removed files within the mod that wasn't in use.

In the GameDefines.sql file, the UU replaces Rifleman class, but in other places, the UU refers to Great War Infantry. To fix this, either replace all Greate War Infantry references to Rifleman or vice versa

The Dahuitang doesn't show up when I want to move my great works there.

Does the Red Guard work like it's supposed to? Because it's a Rifleman replacement but becomes available at Replaceable Parts which obsoletes Riflemen, so I can never build Red Guards, only upgrade Musketmen into them. Additionally, this makes Rifling an empty technology that unlocks nothing.

Then I guess the Events and Decisions mod is no longer supported at all for this mod, along with all of JFD's mods that had...

But I'm afraid there are still more of them, particularly Kiang and others, continuing to use E&D...

Honestly I figured Mao Zedong's UA would be to cause more deaths to his countryman than Hitler & Stalin every combined for (estimated 40+ million deaths from forced famine that he imposed) but well made nonetheless thank you for the upkeep!

so if you have policy saving enabled you could save up a couple policies, move into enemy territory, then enact like 3 policies for exponential red guards?
