Description
German Class 103 electric high-speed locomotive developed in the late 60s and introduced in 1970. Officially phased out in 2003, they remained in scheduled service until 2018. 5 units are operational, two units are still used for trials and rail-tours

With an one-hour rating of 12,000 kW (16,000 hp), they are the most powerful single-section locomotive ever built. The continuous output was rated at 7440 kW. One unit reached an operational performance of 50,250 km (31,220 mi) in June 1972, which demonstrated its role as workhorse for DB for fast services throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Daily routes in excess of 1400 km were common. This came with high wear and maintenance costs. In the 1990s, they were also used in front of freight and regional trains, which put big strains on the electric systems and led to a high rate of defects since the engines were not designed for operations with frequent stops. With introduction of the Class 101, they were to be replaced by 2000 but remained in service far longer as reserve units and replacements for ICE trains.

Included presets:

TEE (Trans-Europ-Express): A first-class service with low capacity and high comfort

@Timcool
The dome car was retired from service in 1973 and the 103 only got scheduled for the Rheingold in 1972. The consist in this mod represents the TEE configuration at any point between 1973 and 1985.
