EVT Solitude

Coyote Orbital Design Bureau: Division A
23 items
Description
NO MODS OR DLCS REQUIRED! This ship has only one subgrid and runs only one script--both of these are entirely optional.

The Solitude is a mining and production vessel intended to take any up-and-coming group of engineers from the surface of a planet to the stars, and help them survive up there; it is ideal for exploring uncharted areas and establishing bases. As such, its Coyote Orbital (COY) designation is EVT, for Exploration Vessel Type. This ship not only mines asteroids, but uses its onboard industry (2 large refineries, 5 large assemblers, and a large number of O2/H2 generators) to process the resources gathered into useful components as well.
Created by the Coyote Orbital Design Bureau Divsion A to escape Galados in the GV sector, the Solitude was built under harsh conditions. After weeks of around the clock construction, COY successfully lifted off of Galados in the EVT and used the ship's production capac to establish a foothold in Bylen's belt.

"Optional subgrid"?
The Solitude's primary forward facing camera is mounted on a rotor array, along with several spotlights. Though the combination of these in the center of the drilling head greatly improves visibility when mining, it isn't required. If the subgrid is not used, CODB recommends replacing the base of the rotor with a camera in the same position.

if u like ship pls leave a rating ^-^ <3

Specifications:
(Learn more by uploading .sbc file to SEPraisal[spaceengineerspraisal.net])
-Mass: 1,188,611 kg.
-PCU: 13,474
-Blocks: 1,418
-Acceleration: 0-104 m/s in approx. 4 seconds forwards, 12ish seconds backwards, all other directions same or slower.
-Scripts: Fancy Flight Info by Blargmode. This script is optional; due to its constant, large updates (or something, I'm not a geek) it is not recommended for multiplayer servers. It does however look VERY cool.
-Normal (horizontal) flight on planets: n o

Controls:
Tab 1:
1-Use drills
2-On/Off toggle for drills
3-On/Off toggle for reverse thrust
4-Forwards camera
5-On/Off toggle for hydrogen engines
6-Jump drive A
7-Stockpile On/Off toggle for ship hydrogen tanks
8-Increase forward thrust override
9-Decrease forward thrust override

Tab 2:
1-On/Off toggle for ship spotlights
2-On/Off toggle for large main thrusters (disable these for mining/gentle maneuvers)

Tab 8 has projector translation controls and Tab 9 has projector rotation controls as usual.

Description:

I've been sitting on this one since January...today I decided I might as well remove all the DLC blocks and post it with everything else, as it's a fairly useful ship. This was the first large ship I created for the Guardians server, and the first one to be built there. It's still floating around Bylen today, in fact, albeit with drills removed and allocated to (frankly ridiculous) mining vessels. Obviously, the small size of the drill head limits how deep it can mine, but the Solitude is more than enough for gathering the materials needed to build a dedicated production base and mining ship, while (I hope) looking good as you go.
The Solitude takes its name from a classic Black Sabbath song, by way of an Ulver cover on the latter group's album Shadows of the Sun (good stuff).

My cutaways were made with the Green Screen skybox and some editing in paint dot net; the awesome logo is courtesy of Paralix (ty soooo much!). Non-server screenshots use Realistic Skybox and Apothilight, plus some FOV tweaking (nvidia ansel i loooove u)

Here's a little inspiration. I have completely reworked the bridge from the inside with a small subgrid. Unfortunately not Survival Projector compatible, but neat (in my opinion). :steamhappy:

Thanks for your reply and the reference now in the specifications. Many lucky astronauts will now not crash if they accidentally tried to make a trip in environments with more than 0.75 gs :-)

Anyway, looking forward to more beautiful designs from you!

@popetouching lmao that's exactly what rest of the faction said when they first saw it...many thanks!
@ZettDeEff fair point, I've made a note in the "Specifications" section of the description. Usually (for my uploads here anyway) a ship will be capable of planetary flight if shown in at least one picture on planets; if not, it won't. This one can't handle horizontal planetary flight in excess of 0. 75gs, as it wasn't designed for that (more so the vertical takeoff, as you mention).

Lovely thing! Design is always a matter of taste, it has met mine in search of a chic mining ship. And out of laziness, once again to create for hours.

Unfortunately, I had to rebuild some things, because the side thrusters are unfortunately not suitable for stable navigation in environments with gravity. Maybe as an idea; to mention that in the description. Of course, quite naive, i welded everything in Survival by my hardworking nanites and in wise advance i took precautions against a crash ( out of experience).

The drive design is suitable for vertical takeoff even in gravity, but in lateral axis the little fellow falls like a stone ;-)

Never thought I'd see a flat Bermuda, looks nice! Another impressive ship.
