Description
BOOK OF THIEVES
Open the Book of Thieves and embark on a grand adventure. Your journey starts in the western village of Dyme. Once there, you’ll receive an unusual invitation: to steal from a master thief!

Book of Thieves is a mod that works best with a new playthrough* but can fit into established games as well. It features content that is designed to be spread across the entire game. The first portions of the adventure in Dyme can be completed with an early game party, with all combat avoidable and a new companion to add to your crew. But as the quest progresses, it’s up to you whether you want to rush into danger before your crew (and new companion) are ready.

Features:
  • Port: Dyme is an all new port, complete with café food and trade goods.
  • Companion: Recruit Bloodlock, an Aphest from an ancient bloodline.
  • Puzzles: Prove yourself in the labyrinth of master thief Gram.
  • Dungeons: Brave the depths of the mysterious Sea Vaults.
  • Treasure: Plunder vast riches, including new accessories of great power.
  • Endings: This quest can end in different ways depending on your choices.
  • Secrets: Complete the quest to learn the location of an end-game mission, complete with more treasure, more puzzles, and ways to influence the course of the final encounter.

Dyme: (found southwest of Towerwall at 38S, 100W)
Sea Vault I: (beyond Ash Port, 141S and 170W)
Sea Vault II: (southeast of Bilibas, 38N and 101E)
Sea Vault III: (west of Northpoint, 164N and 46W)

Hints:
Spoiler alert! The hints in this section are for more than just locations! Each Sea Vault has a safe and risky way to open it, but both methods require the new companion, Bloodlock, to be with you. To avoid a bad ending, keep Bloodlock in your active crew as you journey from port to port. If you manage to unlock all three Sea Vaults, there’s still more to do! Check the bodies of your enemies for clues, and make a note of the days of the week!

This mod would not be possible without the modding channel of the Horizon’s Gate Discord[discord.com]. Thanks to Eldiran for not only creating this fantastic game and a modding guide, but also answering countless questions and providing support in the modding process. *The "new playthrough" recommendation is because much of the content in this mod is initially unlocked by using the new companion that comes with the mod. If you play this game like I do, it's not always easy to give up a spot on your landing crew roster, so I'm more likely to welcome someone new at the start.

Check the northwest (upper left) side of town and dig around there. The arrows will eventually point you to it, aileen.

Can you tell me how to open the sealed stone door located dyme? I've excavated all suspicious places according to the arrow prompts, but still haven't found the switch for the stone door. Can you detail where the switch is? And how to recruit the new companion bloodline?

Ohhh! Thank you. I completely skipped over that book but found the title notable! lol

RobotParty, there’s a book in the base about cryptography that indicates that each element corresponds with a number. For that puzzle, you’re solving a math problem. It helps to know the days of the week in this game’s world.

Heya! Sorry, bothering you on your page again haha. I got to the fathom base and am trying the basement puzzles, but I don't understand the second one? water + lightning = stun correct?

PapaPump, I think the issue you encountered should be repaired now. If possible, load a save before entering the labyrinth in the Dyme basement for the first time. If that's not possible, leave the zone, open the console (shift ~ enter), and type the message below, followed by enter:

PapaPump, make sure that you take a step once you put all the things in the right spot. The triggers I use to check for those puzzle solutions require the player to move a bit before they fire.

So just got into the Dyme basement and I am stumped on the first puzzle feeling like I have everything in order but the portcullis remains sealed...

I’m glad you surpassed the puzzle! Thanks for playing, by the way.

Did the trick, didn't occur to me it wanted Mythril of all things. Guess that's why there was a forge and anvil on the floor above.
