Description
An example mod with blender file to help learn the basics of modding

Full tutorial here

to use this you need SEUT plugin for blender

SEUT
Space Engineers Utilities (SEUT) is an addon for Blender version 2.8 and higher. It allows the user to export models into the Space Engineers MWM file-format and provides an extensive set of functionalities to create such a model in the first place.

Right, but if I don't add my texture file in the mod directory, I have no textures.. I just tried that.. Probably I missed something somewhere.. Let me find you on Keen discord then. :-)

I don't use steam chat best place is the keen discord where I am a mentor.
Texture location references are coded into the mwm file, SEUT sets them to the game directory. You do not need them in your mod directory adding them will mess stuff up.
I do not add the textures in the example video for this reason

I've sent you an invite, instead of troubleshooting here in the comments. :-)

What do you mean? the MVM file contains the textures also? I'm currently adding the DDS textures in a separate Textures directory, but if the game reads textures from the MVM, then that's not needed. Not really closer to why my textures not showing proper after running the mod..

You shouldn't need to include textures in your mod the file was set up to use existing textures that can be easily referenced

Hey Chris. Question: I get to the point where my model is in the game, but the base colour map is not showing properly, only the rest (I think).
It shows up well in Blender (= the TIFF-s are OK and stacked well) but when I add the DDSs to the mod, I only see metalic color not the base color.
In Blender on the CM node, if I have "sRGB" then what is red looks black. If I choose non-color, the model looks good in Blender (red parts are red) but ingame the red parts are white.. No idea why. Maybe you have some idea?

That's a little advanced for a beginner's mod

Hmm. with a little tweaking these models could be turned into a pretty neat farming mod. Too bad i don't know how to do that XD
