The Beginner's Feast - v2.0

Description
Map pitch :
A beginner map in a food-themed world! Use the help from other gourmet eaters (that means the flytrap plants) to reach the end of this calorie-filled course!

Features :
  • Full easy-medium difficulty 18 hole course
  • Overall fairly simple and relaxed course, but features a few harder holes
  • Flytrap plants are your friends in this map. let yourself be eaten and they will spit you towards your goal. Don't be scared!
  • Uses music from the PC version of "Earthworm Jim 2", slightly slowed down to better fit a golf game (music is from "The Flying King" level)
  • Default friction and bounciness recommended, as its the only settings I throughly playtested. The course doesn't have anything too crazy so I expect other settings to work.
  • Please report any bug you find, and I'll fix it ASAP

My comments :
Honestly, I am surprised nobody seems to have done this. Golf it now has a massive collection of food items in-game, and since there is no limit to scaling in the editor, a food world seemed like a logical idea to explore from there! I wanted to build giant hamburger hills, giant chocolate castles, and build the course on top of all that, and...!

...And this ended up not being as good an idea as I expected. Building structures out of the food isn't functional and/or is just ugly, and upscaling it more tha 30 times really starts to look like crap. So I adjusted my design : my map ended up more "flat" and simple than expected, with the food acting as decoration. But it's not entirely a bad thing!

I tend to get carried away in my creation process. I've been wanting to create something "simpler and quicker" for a while, but my dumb perfectionism always gets in the way. But not this time : by having my original vision not working properly, I finally managed to scale down to something simpler and more efficient.

I used about a third of the time I spent on my best maps. And while that was the point, it also means that I can't expect to have done any kind of masterpiece here. Being less ambitious, "The Beginner's Feast" is also less fancy and impressive than some of my other creations. And that's just logical.
...But I still think it's a good map and that you should be able to have some fun with it!

Please, like, comment, and give feedback on any problem you find!

Have fun!

2.0 changes :
  • Many adjustments in hole designs. Hole 14 and 18 majorly redesigned to reduce frustration
  • Added camera changes whenever eaten by a friendly flytrap. this improves readability
  • Adjusted fog, lighting, color correction filter
  • Repolaced old green hills by pink, creamy mountains of vexel terrain
  • Hole 14's chocolate bars might need another hotfix so they remain properly spaced in all cases. The hole might change a little from intended, but will never become impossible/softlock, so it's not that bad as is.
