Developed by the GST division of Consolidation for research and expeditionary work, the SRV Tempest (Short Range Vehicle Tempest) is primarily designed for use in a small radius from the base. The dimensions of the transport were selected for use as part of the new OPC Wanderer exploration ship, however, the first models were delivered even before the first ship left the slipways.
However, the first batch of Tempests became demand at the foreign market, as a result of which these machines were sold to one of the friendly factions. Due to its size and relatively low cost, the machines were used not only for their original purposes, but also in everyday work. Some of them can be found in the hand of military officers, courier services, and thanks to high maneuverability and good dynamics, two vehicles became participants in races on the remote planet Pertram.
The presence of a hitch point at the rear allows to use this transport together with various trailers, which is also convenient for those who need to transport a small amount of cargo, and the built-in ore scanner can be useful for novice miners.
Tempest became the second OPC production model after the Continel to hit the foreign market and promote GST as a brand in the galaxy.
