Jawbreaker - Support carrier

The Jawbreaker is a support carrier, usually seen escorting bigger capital ships, or scouting new sectors.

Being able to comfortably field a small fleet of fighter drones, its ability to enhance the civil or military abilities of its fleet is immense, and is thus a greatly appreciated force multiplier despite its small size.

Unlike other escort ships of similar size, or ability, the Jawbreaker is designed to dock onto bigger ships, hiding its signature to enemys. Sometimes whole fleets of Jawbreakers dock onto their Motherships, waiting for their deployment. Especially Sectorstrippers are known to harbor dozens of jawbreakers latched onto them, and attacking a Sectorstripper usually results in an excessive amount of fighters swarming the assailant

Thanks to the Jawbreakers focus on fighters, it is especially flexible in fleetroles, some specializing in salvage operations, asteroid mining, or straight up combat support. Unlike other frigates of similar size it lacks direct combat capabilities however, and almost exclusively relies on long range fighter screening. In direct close combat it quickly falters, especially when facing heavy torpedo or focus fire

Thanks to its cheap upkeep and costs however, and its ability to bring swarms of drones, it is still seen scouting enemy territory or frontier sectors, gathering intelligence for its main fleets and capital ships to arrive when needed

One thing of note: because it is designed with a compact frame in mind, it has comparetivly small cargo holds, which can become a problem if one intends of using r- miners, but since they are usually seen supporting bigger ships, that is rarely a problem.
