Lustrous Librarian Skins

Description
What is This?
This is a set of 4 skins for The Librarian Class mod, made with permission.

Positioning and Conflicts
Position above the class mod but not essential. Should work with all other skins, as I'm using the 'new' naming system.
These skins are named Rusty_librarian_A to Rusty_librarian_D.

Ha! Yeah, I went on a cursory glance after you mentioned your mod just now and was skim-reading the 'update notes' in the description.
Then browsing the screenshots....

I'm sure at some point I'll need a good helping of "Art Therapy" again where I might return to making skins again, and I still have my list of 'DD mods to investigate' :)

The latest update was 4 years ago XD I only just returned myself
It's fine, of course. If you think they look decent enough that's encouraging, and I certainly wouldn't object if someone else made an add-on later

Sorry :( I got burned out on doing DD reskins. Moved on to over stuff.

From what I can see of the palette swaps in the latest Fanatic mod update they look decent enough. The only real key thing for making skins is to ensure no collection of 4 (of the same) units look too similar. You want to give the player easy distinctions between Unit1 and Unit2.

For this you want to identify key areas of the sprite. Normally there is a 'base underlay' that never changes, like the skin colour, or the basic robe. Then identify points of interest that can change, like hair colours/hats, gloves/boots/belts, bags/satchels, weapons, held items etc. These are the parts you want to focus your recolour efforts into :)

No idea if years later you're still doing these, but I liked yours and I've recently gotten to refurbishing the Fanatic mod. The palettes I included with it were more or less machine-generated and ramshackle/last minute. If you'd wish to contribute, that'd be fine by me

Since you're enjoying recolours I had a naughty idea. Sent you a contact request.

None at the moment. I need to be able to reach the original authors for permissions and no-one is responding to my probes/questions. I'd like to do some for the Thorn and Snake Charmer mods as I'm using those classes. Still being relatively new to DD I'm slowly sampling classes and 'filling in' classes that don't have many skins already :)

really sweet mod, love your recolor! Any other recolors you're currently working on?
RustyDios  [author] 21 May, 2021 @ 7:09am
Thankyou! I quite like doing recolours like this. I can't do original art and I have a massive amount of respect for artists, but I can recolour :) Just to add a little something to the community.

I was talking with Slime on the MLD discord about these for the original permissions, but now I see that the class was a large project from a lot of people ... so it's nice to get a "thumbs up" from the other listed author :)
