Group B’s Last Hoorah

The Latte Theta was designed from the ground up as a no compromises rally car first, and a production car second. The Theta is an extremely small, two seat, lightweight monster with more power than most race cars could ever dream of having. The car was designed around a massive six cylinder supercharged engine paired with an ultra-efficient eight speed automatic that can transmit every last bit of the car's power to the ground, allowing for a top speed in excess of 240 kph. The Theta retains many of the technologies found in Latte's 253 Terrano rally car, such as the advanced aero system capable of keeping the car level in all situations, including flight.

The drivers of the Theta must be the best of the best with reaction times capable of handling the snappiness and unpredictability that came with the car's short wheelbase. Those who do choose to take their chances in the Theta's drivers seat will find that the car has exactly as much grip as they want it to have, but retains the ability to slide cleanly around turns. Drivers may also find that the Theta can take some punishment. By some, we mean it will never suffer damage during a bottom out event, guaranteed.

This specific example of the Theta is owned by Dennis, who race it as a part of their own racing team which they use for publicity. Feel free to check out Dennis here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2197358644

The Theta is capable of an impressive 1:12.067 on the Status Ring, which is quite impressive for a car of its size. It is worth noting that the Theta is not by any means a track car, and in that sense is outclassed by even the 1977 Latte 253 Terrano. The Theta really shines when the pavement ends.

Thanks to Utopian for most of the car’s body/aesthetics. Also, thanks to Exploderize for emotional support, amongst other smaller things. This car has been a hell of a lot of work for all of us since last year, when the original version of this car was created in the form of the Toyto Hayai TR. Since then, the car has been lengthened, and rebuilt from the ground up in multiple occasions. These rebuilds included the addition of an extremely powerful modular engine, which eclipses the original small engine power plant in every conceivable way. From that original starting point, the car has been through multiple iterations which climaxed in the Rallystorm 2021 race, in which we took third. It is also worth noting that we were the smallest car to enter the race. If you decided to read this far, thanks, and we hope you enjoy!

We post all the creations from Utopian, Exploderize, and my companies. We will also have leaderboards for Utopian’s three tracks posted. Events may be hosted from time to time, we are still somewhat in the setup phase.

If you want to join again, it should be mostly set up now and we plan on setting up some race leaderboards and possibly doing some events!

use air to air coolers cocky. they work better than radiators

Its usually enough with just 1 3x3 electric radiator and an impeller pump powered by the engine. You can set it up where the entire cooling loop consists of just 1 angled pipe, 1 impeller pump, 1 cooling manifold and 1 radiator, then it cools the engine very efficiently. You can get better engine performance if u put the impeller pump after the gearbox but before the clutch so that way the cooling only speeds up when the engine is in higher gears.
