Wow you have taken me back there now. Pure nostalgia - wonderful. I spent a good bit of time in the guards section of the 101s with my grandfather,a gaurd for BR - some of the best times.

I love the old DMUs just like you. I still remember the smell of their interior, the soft seats, the damped warm roaring of the diesel engine from below and the relaxing feeling of the movement itself. Wonderful!

Yes - agree with your reasoning. Must confess, as you know, the Class 101 DMU is my favourite loco and it is a Diesel !!!

Hello chris, thank you for your nice feedback. Just like you I enjoy the good view out of the diesel locomotives. Sometimes I also enjoy the quieter run, especially during game sessions in the late evening or at night. It's a bit more relaxed. ;-) All the best, Tob

Enjoyable trip thank you. Must say, though, that I much preferred the Small Prairie version. The Hymek is an easier trip and you get to see much more of the scenery, but the Prairie is more challenging and, to my mind, more fun. I also realise that there are many participants that prefer to drive 'tin cans' rather than real locomotives. It is great that you give us the options. Thank you TobBirk.
