Landing-pad for Janus-ASV EGS v1.4.7

Description
This is for EGS v1.4.7.

I really like the Janus-ASV module for the Helios-MSC by jrandall

It is designed to be used as a starter base that can be upgraded as you level until it is a full-on CV with all the amenities that you would want.

The one issue that I have with it is that it is difficult to find a large enough flat piece of ground to spawn it on.

My OCD really freaks out when everything in the ship is at a slope. So I decided that it is time for a landing pad to spawn it on. I wanted more than just a square of concrete so this landing pad was born. The next issue to solve was how to accurately place/spawn the Janus on the pad.

The procedure that I use gives fairly accurate results. Start by standing on the circle on the boarding platform. Go into 3rd person view and bring the Janus-ASV blueprint out ready to spawn. Turn the ship to face you with the insert/delete keys. Now you can easily line the ship up to the edge of the boarding ramp. Spawn the ship when you are happy with the alignment.

Thanx to Jeff for the stunning ships that he designs for our usage.

Great instruction on lining up. Worked like a charm. I've opted for this and the Janus to begin my latest Reforged adventure.

You are right, it is by CrazyZ, I somehow (wrongly) remembered it as by Jeff. My mistake

Endless, I was looking for the Passion SV by Jeff Randall, but I only see the one by CrazyZ. Can you please post a link to the one that you like.

Endless, removing the core is brilliant. Solves the problem nicely. Well done.

PS, At this stage I have normally also spawned in Jeff Randall's Passion SV. It comes with a fridge and better constructor so that is also covered. And still no base attacks.

Hi Radgrim.
Thanx for the suggestions. I actually went the other way and removed everything except the core. And that I place on top of the pad so that it is easy to remove after placing the pad. In that form it is placeable at lvl1 and very cheap - 32 iron, 14 copper and 11 silicone, and then 2792 stonedust - that is only 698 crushed stone, you normally get around that amount from mining one stone pillar. With the core gone you are back at no base attacks. I build and place a few portable constructors as storage until I can spawn in the Janus. I have uploaded the stripped down landing pad to the workshop but have not made it public yet as I have to find the time to get all the images uploaded and description written. But, fingers crossed, I hope to get to it soon.

I am a fan of the Janus and of jrandall, but it can be difficult to find the level ground that you need or want. So, I agree with you that this is a convenient solution. I have a couple of level-headed suggestions. The Janus requires level 7, but your platform requires level 10. Both require cobalt that can be hard to obtain depending on the scenario, difficulty settings, and starting planet. If you take out the T2 fuel tank and replace it with two T1s, you can spawn this in at level 3 and there is no cobalt requirement.

You might also consider slapping on a refrigerator, food processor, armor locker, small constructor, and a few containers. These are the things most needed by a level 3 and will turn your platform into a very useful mini base while you gather the resources to spawn in the Janus. I actually made it into a level 5 spawn because I wanted some minigun turrets to fight drones.

Thanks for the design.
