Thanx for the suggestions. I actually went the other way and removed everything except the core. And that I place on top of the pad so that it is easy to remove after placing the pad. In that form it is placeable at lvl1 and very cheap - 32 iron, 14 copper and 11 silicone, and then 2792 stonedust - that is only 698 crushed stone, you normally get around that amount from mining one stone pillar. With the core gone you are back at no base attacks. I build and place a few portable constructors as storage until I can spawn in the Janus. I have uploaded the stripped down landing pad to the workshop but have not made it public yet as I have to find the time to get all the images uploaded and description written. But, fingers crossed, I hope to get to it soon.
You might also consider slapping on a refrigerator, food processor, armor locker, small constructor, and a few containers. These are the things most needed by a level 3 and will turn your platform into a very useful mini base while you gather the resources to spawn in the Janus. I actually made it into a level 5 spawn because I wanted some minigun turrets to fight drones.
Thanks for the design.
