Class description
Cargo vessels and support vessels have different subclasses. This vessel is a fast combat support ship (AOE) designed primarily for mining and transporting cargo in or near enemy territory. As such, it carries a limited suite of offensive and defensive weapons. Relatively high speeds for a transport ensures some evasive capabilities should the threat level increase beyond what the ship can muster.

The ship
The Prospector currently stands as the largest non-combat oriented mining vessel. It is most often used in more distant resource zones, having more sizeable stores (at 544k) than the other miners. The Prospector as such is the backbone for an expanded empire. For survivability the ship has a single APS gun mounted on the bow section, and a single missile launcher at the stern. It will not be able to fend off larger foes, but against a small opportunistic invader it might be able to fend for itself. With a top speed of around 20 m/s in good conditions, it's decently fast for an auxillary ship. The turning circle however is quite small, at 200m, thanks to the azipods. In all, a very capable ship that should serve well in any fleet.
