Hey! Are you looking for a primary school asset that will fit well in your city? If so, then you've come to the right place! This 1960s Hong Kong-ish school building has a very iconic mid-modernist facade. One of the highlights is that it can entertain a lot of students right in the middle of your city so that with just one building you can already provide good coverage for the area. What? It can hold a thousand students?! Yep, that's how it works in real-life too! Consider the situation in Hong Kong during the 1960s: 6 Grades (Y1-Y6) x 5 Classes Per Grade x 30 Students Per Class = ~1,000 Students. Not to mention, there're AM and PM sections so the actual amount is even more than that...

This asset presents you the lovely matchbox style [Overwhelming External Beam Boxy Structure] that many public schools in Hong Kong were built of. They're called the matchbox school just because they look like a "matchbox" from the outside. To better describe style like this with architectural terms, we may use these keywords: Modernism, Minimalism, Functionalism, International Style. Thanks to Le Corbusier who had created such a functional (or ugly/tedious, some may say so) form for schools.

This asset is not necessarily an exact recreation of the real object. I made a lot of adjustment to make it suitable for use in-game (and because of my limited capability).

For the texturing part, I just got the time to apply some simple and plain texture on it. Though that doesn't mean it looks bad. I did tweak the saturation and coloring so it looks kind of similar to Valex 's Russian projects here on the workshop. But yes, I'm still planning for a rework on the texture. It's on my schedule!

This asset includes 4 color variations: Green, Red, Orange, Blue. They're typical paint colors for public schools in Hong Kong. For it to work you don't have to install anything because it's completely vanilla! Just place it and you'll see the effect. If you want the colors to be something else, like pink, then you'll have to install the Repaint Mod, which allows you to change the colors live in-game.



This asset has a pre-defined color mask. That means the colors will only change for part of the building only. Even with the Repaint Mod installed you won't be able to change the color of the entire building unless you clicked the "Colorize" button in the panel that overrides the mask.

If you feel that the colors are over-saturated / too bright, you may as well install the repaint mod to fix the issue. To do so, you simply select a shade of grey as the color overlay.

The following values are bench-marked by the Mesh Info Mod. They're good indicators for you to evaluate the performance of this asset in-game.


This asset has a footprint of 3 x 7 with the longer side facing the road. It's designed to be placed in a 1:1 city.





This asset can be found under the Education Tab in-game. It serves as a primary school under the category of Education - Elementary. Below are the values that may impact your gameplay. Compared to a vanilla elementary school, this asset has a better student count and coverage.
