GE C39-8

Description
The GE C39-8 is a 6-axle road switcher diesel-electric locomotive model built by GE Transportation Systems between 1984 and 1987. It is part of the GE Dash 8 Series of freight locomotives.

A total of 161 examples of this locomotive were built for two North American railroads: Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railway.

The C39-8 was a fairly unpopular locomotive with crews, cited factors such as a rough ride, tendency to overheat, frequent turbocharger issues like turbo catching on fire and melting the paint, issues with the fuel injection system, and various other reliability issues.

This mod is a MSTS convert from Trainsim.com

A couple of issues

In the Buy menu the locomotive isn't listed as "GE C39-8" or "C39-8" or even just "C39" the Locomotive is simply listed as "Conrail" as if the loco is the entire Consolidated Rail Corporation as a whole.

Also has no crew.

But it is a good port and fits well within the TPF2 world. and it does a good job hauling freight up and down the rails. From your description though it sounds like it would only be good at blocking lines because it's to busy being on fire to move xD

If anyone is familiarize with Plastikman on TT-forums, he got permission for just about the entire USA fleet from the MSTS commmuniity for the game locomotion. Maybe this information can help with providing more content for TF2.

I really do not appreciate SqUiTwTUrD's capitalistic greed that is cancer to this workshop community and he should be banned and deleted.

1. A game is abandonware if it is no longer “reasonably available” for sale or officially supported. 2. Abandonware games must be older than about four to five years old

Abandonware is generally defined as any software that's at least a few years old and is no longer distributed or supported by its owner.

come again SqUiTwTUrD

@SqUiTwUrD We have been contacting the OG Mod makers and all have been fine. All Danny Beck meshes are free use as anyone would like. This mod is from another site and was posted under Creative Commons. I do not need perms to port, I ask anyway. Please actually know what you are talking about before you talk crap

just because its "abandonware" doesnt give you the right to go and re release it for another game, if someone were to rip your own models and port them to another game without consent im sure you wouldnt take to kindly to that. regardless of whether you would care or not, the people who made the content you are stealing might care and you should respect it as so. if you ask me its pretty disrespectful to do so

@SqUiTwUrD i got it from trainsim. It is abandonware and no author was listed. All the other mods have credit, including this one to the best of my ability. I recon you were also the one spamming my mod pages as well so its no supprise your the one to complain
soybean 2 Jun, 2021 @ 5:21pm
if you are going to rip someone else's model and then re release it for a different game you should probably at least credit the original modeler
