Ramlethal

Description
Ramlethal from Guilty Gear Strive and Guilty Gear Xrd rushes it out!

This iteration of her takes elements from both games to make her playstyle fit as a Rivals of Aether styled Bait and Punish.

GIMMICK: Swords

Ramlethal will use her swords similarly to her appearances in Guilty Gear Xrd and Strive. Her swords can be placed on stage and stay where they are until
they are summoned again.

Using her normals while the swords are retrieved will cause the normals to have more range. Same with her aerials.

If Ramlethal is attacked, her swords will stop attacking. It will take until Ramethal is out of hitstun before they can attack again.
If her familiars are hit with enough knockback, they will stop attacking and be knocked into the ground.

NSPECIAL: Deploy Swords
One of her swords will be placed on stage. If this move is charged the sword will lunge forward as a powerful attack (similar to Strive).
If both swords are placed onstage, she will call them back.

FSPECIAL: Sabrobato
A forward slashing attack. If Ramlethal has her swords equipped this move will have more power. One sword will make it less powerful. It is weakest when she has no swords equipped.

USPECIAL: Sildo Detruo
Similar to the move in both games, Ramlethal will jump in the air and do an overhead. Has a good amount of startup, but is a powerful move that can spike.
It will take a while before she can recover from the attack. You are able to bound off of the swords if you hit them during this move.

DSPECIAL: Cassius
A projectile that arcs upwards. Useful for opponents trying to approach in the air.
Unlike in Guilty Gear, if it touches a familiar it will cause them to move a little bit.

Using her taunt is also key. Her taunt will call any sword left on the field back without having to deploy her other sword.

FINAL SMASH: Calvados
big laser

Part 2: The swords make for extremely good stage control with their long range and ability to hit hard with good placement, but if you leave them unattended your opponent can easily destroy them in seconds so you have to take care in keeping people away from getting too close. Her down special is extremely situational but if you can find the right time to use it it can give you a couple extra hits which could put your opponent into their coffin.

She's one of the first characters I've actually wanted to learn and I honestly don't regret it in the slightest, she is extremely fun and has amazing potential. I wholeheartedly recommend giving her a try.

Part 1: The moveset lets you dominate the stage if you can pay attention to 4 + separate entities which pretty much guarantees your victory. If you aren't great at that though you'll find yourself having a hard time. If your opponent is a rushdown and can apply good consistent pressure you'll end up in a bad situation if you make a minor mistake with range and placement. The recovery is hard to use but I'd say that's a fair balancer for her, it makes for a very satisfying recover and is a great tool in her kit for rushing someone if your swords are gone. I've seen multiple people say she isn't that good without her swords but in reality she does amazing even without them, her fists can easily beat someone to death as long as you can stay on top of your opponent.

Hey, this character is really fun but please I'm begging you (down on my knees) make this character have an actual recovery that doesn't involve becoming a NASCAR diving down into your death. Ramlethal can't really get much distance, and if she's forced to up special, she's just gonna die from the overhead without even getting the chance to wall jump.

not related, but unfortunately the lobby will crash if lumina's spark projectiles strike a familiar/sword.

I'd love to see ram's sword normals not continue to play out if she's hit, specifically when the swords are at her side. it's not particularly balanced for your opponent to hit you in forward air start up and then eat the hit anyway, which is a shame because this kit is damn fun.

Yeah, I was able to fix the issue on my local Ramlethal by adding "UnReflectable = true;" (case sensitive) to article1_init.gml.

If I understand correctly, this has to do with custom mechanics specific to FelixBlobDev's roster of Rivals. In the article script of their Eggman's projectile I also found these immunity-granting lines that seem like they wouldn't hurt either, grouped next to the unreflectability:

MattCanGrab = false;
MorshuCanGrab = false;
CalCanSnack = 0;
Pocketable = false;

Again, Felix is willing and certainly able to help you out more if you wish to better understand patching your publications to work with theirs.

Hey there, I've encountered a bit of an issue when fighting FelixBlobDev's Dr. Eggman and Felix has helped shed light on the source of it: Venus and Velva can be broken by reflector moves like Eggman's F-Tilt, whereupon they will become unable to fetch their idle sprites and appear as missing Xes when not executing moves. Apparently this can be fixed by either setting VnV's Articles as unreflectable or changing the way their idle sprites are fetched to an owner-agnostic one, although I'm not sure how that would play into displaying alt colors.

FelixBlobDev has mentioned they're willing to help if another dev needs technical assistance, so I'm sure they can explain it better if you page them. I've still hardly figured out RoA's under-the-hood, so I'm mostly relaying their explanation, which you can also see in a bit more detail in Eggman's comment section where I first brought this up.
