Description
"Isn't the real AK-12 chambered in 5.45x39 mm?"

That's right! The Apex AK-12 is actually the AK-15. This mod adds seperate variants of the AK-12 that use the 5.45x39 mm cartridge, including the AKU-12 and RPK in all color variations.

All of the above are available in black, arid and lush variants.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING THE RHSAFRF MOD: It adds tons of new magazines and more importantly: 5.45 mm suppessors which are NOT in Vanilla! I may add 5.45 suppressors at some point but for now, use the RHS ones.

Disclaimer

All variants of the AK-12 5.45 mm will have the default AK-12 icon in the Arsenal and inventory, but will have their respective skins ingame. This is because Bohemia hasn't unlocked the Contact DLC files yet for me to make custom icons but I will probably update them once the EBOs are unlocked.

Compatibility

All weapons can take any modded magazine that is configured with the right MagazineWell (RHS, NiArms and CUP work for example). I've tried making the accessory slots work with other mods but I can't garantee that every mod works (once again, RHS works).

Language

The weapons are all translated to every available language of Arma 3, the magazines are only translated to English, French, Spanish and German, all other languages will default to English.

Weapon Statistics

Stats are mostly the same as the 7.62 AK-12, only inertia and some others have been modified to reflect the lighter weight. Below are the weight (units) and muzzle velocities (m/s):
- AK-12: 130 Units, 900 m/s
- AK-12 GL: 150 Units, 900 m/s
- AKU-12: 100 Units, 735 m/s
- RPK-16: 150 Units, 920 m/s

That has a reason actually! When the AK-12 first came out, it did use 5.45mm magazine models while still shooting 7.62x39; in a later update, the magazine models were changed to reflect the caliber, but the icons stayed

Random thing i just noticed that isn't directly related to this mod, but the vanilla ak-12 icon clearly has 5.45mm mag, not a 7.62mm. Again, not directly related to the mod but still kinda interesting.

sadly i can only define one suppressor class and i think its better if thats the real 5.45 one so that its compatible with the actually fitting suppressors.
if you want suppressors for them, its better to use a mod like RHSAFRF

would there be a way to add suppressors to this for right now? maybe give it the ability to mount the 7.62 or 5.56 or even the 6.5mm suppressors until you make the 5.45 suppressors?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! Sadly I cant really work on mods because im very busy with college. As for your idea, I tried that back then, unfortunately, 5.56 magazines are modeled very weirdly in the shared-magazine system of Arma and clip through any weapon through the top. Same with the MX sadly. Hope that helps! Have a nice day.

Hi there! Curious to ask if it would be possible to add the AK-12 in 5.56 version? Maybe compatible with the stanag mags from RHSUSAF if possible? Thank you!
