Spawn Room Turret

Description



The Spawn Room Turret was a scrapped model that only existed in the games files as textures for several years... UNTIL NOW!

The model for the gun part itself was found in an unused Jungle Inferno prop with broken UV's that I had to re-unwrap. The rest was modeled by me using the textures as reference.

NOTICE: If any maps or sourcemods wish to use this model. Go right ahead. I just ask for credit.




Spawn_Turret.mdl

• Team skins
• Physics mesh
• Custom hitboxes
• Attachments for muzzle flashes if need be

If the turret is able to also be put in the floor and rise up, it would be usables to make a new type of sentry tank (if the turret also has a propety that can make the turret destroyable of course)

one way to fix the camping issues in tf2 would be by redesigning the spawns a bit and adding these back, damn it valve, why are you so damn lazy.

Like a couple already pointed out, 'tis a shame this turret never made it into the actual game. It'd certainly go a long way to prevent spawncamping if you were to open up a door and a heavy caliber turret were to open fire.

But given the layout of some maps (CTF ones in particular) I can see why it was never added. Kinda ruins the flow of the match if you run by Red or Blue spawn on 2fort and a (potentially unkillable) turret guns you down
