NEXUS [HAMMER, 5 FLOORS, MEDIUM-HARD, CUSTOM SPRITES]

Description
"Just do what comes natural"

This level was heavily inspired by Krinkels' Newgrounds series Madness Combat, specifically by the 5th and 6th episodes "Depredation" and "Antipathy".

Mawn your way through hordes of A.A.H.W. agents and engeneers to reach the end.

Also, if there are any glitches or other probems that you found during playthrough, feel free to report them

P.S: had to take down first version because I forgot the folder with mods

Honestly? I really enjoyed this custom made level, as a fan of Madness Combat this helped scratch an itch that I never knew I had. The custom sprites and homage to actual episodes in the series just makes this one of the best Madness Combat levels I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Sure the sliding doors were a bit of a pain and the flow of nothing but shooters was a bit dull but these are just nitpicks of mine, I recommend this for anyone that loves stuff that is fast paced or those that just like Madness Combat. You'll have a good, if short time with this. Good stuff! :6face:

Thanks for the feedback! To be honest, I would also like to make a more "mobile" character than Hammarin a main hero, but originally there were going to be more than 2-3 types of enemies so that you could pick up more weapons, but later this idea was scrapped due to the sprite creation being a big pain in the back, but Hammer still remained as our protagonist since his sprites were already done. Also, I would like to apologise for the overwhelming amoun of enemies in such narrow corridors, since this project was a kind of experiment for me in level design: before this my levels used to have a lot of free space between the rooms, so I tried reducing it (and it didn't work out quiet as planned), tho you can still pass levels without corner peeking just by drawing attention with a gun, not a very "Madness-like" way of dealing with enemies, but still can help to pass first and last two levels without breaking combo

I personally liked it and how it used both agents and engineers, with the occasional soldat as a dodger and Mag Agents as fatties. That being said, the large amount of gun enemies just leads to a lot of corner peeking, since Hotline Miami characters have no real way to avoid bullets besides just strafing (perhaps a character with the roll dodge ability could've helped?). The last floor's glass corridor also didn't work out as well as it was probably planned, since it can be cleared by sniping the enemies from outside their view range.

Overall a 7/10, honestly one of the better Madness inspired maps. Future maps could be improved by usage of melee dodgers and reskinning a roll-dodge capable character instead of the comparatively vanilla H.M. Hammarin.
