House of Culture

A small modernist and retro looking House of Culture (or Dom Kultury, Haus der Kultur,дом культуры etc) based on the multi-function buildings found not only the former Warsaw Pact countries, but all over the world! Once pivotal to local communities, these buildings were establishments for all kinds of recreational activities and hobbies: sports, collecting, arts, etc.; the Palace of Culture was designed to have room for multiple uses. A typical Palace contained one or several cinema halls, concert hall(s), dance studios (folk dance, ballet, ballroom dance), various do-it-yourself hobby groups, amateur-radio groups, amateur-theatre studios, amateur musical studios and bands, lectoriums (lecture halls), and many more. Groups were also subdivided by age of participants, from children to retirees.

Similarly, to the Small Soviet Hotel I made before, I have attempted to make this building “multipurpose” in its look, meaning that even if you aren’t building a “soviet” city, this modernist structure can easily transfer into another setting. It doesn’t even have to be a House of Culture!


In-game:
Item in game is a landmark (because I just don’t know what I am doing with RICO editing). I’ve been using ploppable service blocks to give it a mixed use function. Search the Find It! Mod with the phrase “House of Culture” to locate it.
