TRN Islander 2 XT - Model Number IS2 - 2nd Generation Hull "Derwent" - 1st Generation Pure Diesel Drivetrain

I present the TRN Islander 2 XT, the 2nd product in my line of Islander boats. This represents a huge improvement over the Islander 1; streamlining the overall design, increasing capacity and range, adding various features, and completing many aesthetic and functional reworks. The Islander 2 XT strikes an incredible balance between fuel efficiency, comfort, versatility, and speed. The Islander 2 XT truly is best in its class.

The Islander is a small/medium passenger transport vessel with a long range, designed to ferry passengers back and forth between islands, the mainland, and outlying bases, like oil rigs. It can also be used for tours, thanks to its great visibility. It is also capable of some rescue missions, with its winches, fire hose outlets and huge stores of equipment. The Islander can also complete extremely long journeys and is able to make multiple round trips from Sawyer to the Arctic on a single tank of fuel. It also copes incredibly well with extreme weather and waves thanks to its high air intakes, low propellors and rudder, and low centre of gravity. The Islander 2 XT transitions effortlessly between river, lake and open ocean operations.

Advised top speed is 30km/h with a range of 400-450km. Cabin capacity is 48 passengers and 3 crew. Rear deck capacity is 10 seated and 20 standing, weather permitting. Diesel fuel only.

Features:
- Custom combined throttle and clutch, my best yet, taken from my TRN 100
- Custom depth alert system that sounds a buzzer on a timer
- Custom engine alert systems that sound a buzzer when certain conditions are met
- Custom automatic heating system that switches on below 12°C (can be switched off via a circuit breaker if not needed to save energy)
- Custom refuelling circuit and microcontroller to save space
- Custom position lights blinker system and microcontroller
- Custom winch systems with microcontroller
- Stats display (not my own)
- Touchscreen autopilot/navigation display with keyboard to enter exact waypoints (not my own)
- Touchscreen radio with 999 possible channels (not my own)
- Water depth display (not my own)
- Well positioned cabin lighting with subtle coloured mood lights and guidance floor lights
- Bilge pump system
- Custom winch systems that can be used to tow other boats
- Curved cabin windows allow for incredible visibility, even right upwards into the sky
- Lots of rope anchors and ropes allow for the boat to be tied up in whatever way is most convenient
- Rear facing camera with wide angle display for improved visibility
- Stormlink compatible
- Emergency roof hatches
- Fire hose outlet systems, 2 front, 2 rear
- Spacious cabin with 48 seats, sofas, crew area, functional bathroom, and hidden equipment store
- Intelligent hull design to give as much usable cabin and deck space as possible
- Custom branding with TRN and Islander logos and mural, plus plates near the captains seat
- Bathroom with working tap, shower and mirror

Instructions:
- Enter the cabin, you may need to crouch. Walk over to the left dashboard at the front
- Switch on “Electrical Systems”
- When you wish to turn the engines on, ensure that the “Engine Ready” lockable button is on, then turn the starter
- When you wish to move away, enter the captains seat and either use the throttle lever, or your 3 and 4 keys to control the combined throttle/clutch. Simply push forwards or hold 4 to accelerate
- Please note, if you accelerate too quickly right after starting the engine it may stop as a safety measure. Simply start it again and this will cancel the safety stop
- To turn off the engine either turn off the “Engine Ready” button, or the “Electrical Systems”

To refuel, walk onto the roof of the main cabin, then carefully move down onto the bow of the boat. You will then see a small orange refuelling panel and a spare hose. Take the hose and connect it to your fuel source, and then back to the Islander, then flick the breaker to begin refuelling. When the fuel level stops rising, refuelling is done.

Thanks to the generators and solar panels, the batteries will charge during normal use. If they need to be charged quickly, bring the throttle to around 0.1 and power will be passed mainly to the generators. If sat at a dock, you can also use the front charging connector, but this is unlikely to ever be needed.

When it came to my older Islander 1, I realised it needed updating to match the quality of my TRN 100, which became 3rd most popular on the Workshop in one week. I wanted to simply update the Islander 1 under the hood with better logic, but decided to rebrand it from just Islander to TRN Islander 1, and then release a new version; hence the TRN Islander series and the TRN Islander 2 XT was born.

Upgrades over Islander 1:
- Passenger capacity increased to 48
- Hugely improved combined throttle and clutch
- Integrated radio system added
- Rear hull design overhaul
- Larger and safer outdoor deck
- Reduced unnecessary weight
- More flood resistant and streamlined doorway
- Larger and angled cabin windows improve visibility
- Much more emergency equipment
- Improved position light blinking system using my own microcontroller
- Refinements to hull and general boat body
- Refinements to engine systems
- Aesthetic improvements, including different colours, patterns and branding
- General logic refinements
- Fire hose outlet system, 2 front, 2 rear
- Refinements to refuelling system
- Improved bathroom
- Lower height makes it better for squeezing under obstacles, like at oil rigs or bridges

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoy my creation! Feel free to also check out my TRN Islander 1 which this rework is based off - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2492558403
