Happy 4th of July to America, or “Happy 3 days since Canada Day”. To celebrate, I present a large collection of liveries with some contributions to the project, all in the Bicentennial Pack, featuring 15 liveries based off various locomotives/rolling stock painted to celebrate 200 years since the American Revolution.

In 1976, various American railroads chose a unique way to celebrate 200 years since the American Revolution happened. In celebration, a handful of diesel locomotives, cabooses, freight cars, and truck trailers were painted in unique liveries of red, white, and blue, with American stars, and other fancy designs like eagles, striping, and lining to represent the colors of the American flag, with each unit having there own distinct design (even the KCS had a one-of-a-kind livery for the event). One of the many highlights was revival of the American Freedom Train, with Reading T1 #2101 and recently restored Southern Pacific #4449 taking the train across the USA.


The first locomotive to start the trend was the Seaboard Coast Line when U36B #1776 being painted in Bicentennial colors, and then soon, every road caught on to the trend. From Class I’s to Shortlines, financially-struggling roads to industrial roads, the trend had became popular and soon various locomotives in red-white-and blue appeared across the country catching the eyes of railfans, with some railroads even having more then one, such as Burlington Northern, Santa Fe, Boston and Maine, and Conrail. After the events, nearly all units were repainted back into the conventional roads, but even 45 years after the event, the legacy of the Bicentennial Units still live on, as some Bicentennial units have been made during the 2010’s, or original Bicentennial units have been preserved, or still operating on the road today.



In this pack, are 15 liveries recreating some of the known examples of the Bicentennial fleet, including the famed AFT 4449, ICG 1776, and GTW 1776, with the famed “Thunder Chicken” on the side.
