Description


This mod adds the Modoc, the brave yet tragic rebels of the Modoc War, under their wartime leader Kintpuash (aka Captain Jack), to the game!

Requires Brave New World.

The Modoc - Kintpuash

Hell With The Fire Out: Cities receive additional Strength and HP per Mountain or Hill in their borders, and +1 Food per directly adjacent Mountain. Cities adjacent to Mountains allow the 'airlifting' of units to one another.

Kilosh: Unique Rifleman for the Modoc which possesses a 20% Defensive bonus while in Rough terrain. When adjacent to an enemy, generates Great Writer Points in the capital, and provides moreso by passively damaging adjacent enemy Great Generals.

Pit House: Unique Amphitheater for the Modoc. Units killed in the borders of this city provide a boost of Culture. If a city with a Pit House is captured, all other cities with filled Pit House GW slots have their HP restored and Production hurried.


Includes mod support for YnAEMP, UCI, Cultural Diversity, and JFDLC.

I love this civilization! But I seem to be having the same problem that the previous commentator had. I would randomly get courthouses when I go below 0 happiness. I loved the civ especially the early airlifting aspect but the gold maintenance bug made it unplayable for me.

I've tried to play as this civilization 3 times, and in all of them there was a huge building maintenance cost making it unfeasible to play. Shortly after the game started I'd get a Courthouse out of nowhere, which had a displayed 4 gold cost, but it was twice that in the gold balance, making me easily hit -10 gold generation despite me only having 1 unit and 2 buildings (the mysterious Courthouse and after building a Monument). I kept playing that way, relying on City-States, Encampments and Ancient Ruins for short bursts of Science progress, but at some point I was at -34 net worth long before I had Currency, so I never got further.

I think it's this mod since it didn't happen with other civilizations that I tried playing as afterwards, even with the Modoc still enabled. Since another building-related bug was reported, are you sure there's nothing in this mod that could be causing it? Regardless, cool mod (as usual), I was looking forward to playing as the Modoc.

If you're experiencing some sort of bug where you're unable to construct buildings as The Modoc, it's due to a mod conflict of some kind.

The Modoc are fully capable of constructing buildings. They even have a Unique Building. I really honestly don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Hey, I wanted to play them as a rebuilding Civ. I do not know how that is possible if this Civ has no ability to build buildings. It's kind a disappointing. I mean, for the narrative you wrote it makes sense, but the Modoc people were a people with culture and history. I would have liked to built buildings and gain money through more than pure conquest. I love the fact that you created the Modoc though. Have you thought of making Patwin, Miwok, Maidu, Wiyot, or Yurok?
