Malus Darkblade Legendary Lord

Description
A basic rework of Malus' Faction & Commander skills/traits. Essentially makes Malus the DELF Range Lord, buffing Shades similar to ShadowDart, and improves his campaign bonuses. This mod provides a reason to start as Malus, rather than just confederating.

Why Change Malus?

In the books, Malus Darkblade is a renowned commander, entrusted by Malekith to lead armies against impossible odds. However due to the focus on Cold Ones (which is lore accurate, but they are terrible units within WH2), and no real benefits as a faction leader, he has become one of the worst Dark Elf Starting Lords, and they as a faction have also been left behind with the great new DLC's and Race improvements.

Through Hate, All Things Are Possible

This mod makes Malus the best Dark Elf Legendary Lord for Range Units (the Meta), and brings him more on par with the likes of Alarielle or Alith Anar for example. This fills a noticeable LL play style gap in the Dark Elves, where you're currently better off trying to roll ShadowDart.

Faction Leader - 35% range increase across faction and he now boosts slave economy (he is supposed to be rich, and sadistic)
Army Leader - Vanguard skills, a further boost to Shades and upkeep reduction
Combat abilities - largely untouched, he's already ridiculous

Malus has also borrowed some skills and traits from Malekith to help support Slave economy, public order and other campaign rewards such as post-battle loot. All of which loosely fits within the lore of Darkblade.

Is this a cheat mod?

This will certainly make Malus much stronger as a starting lord, and probably push him ahead of Malekith/Morathi as the strongest Dark Elf LL's. However, this increase in power is still well below recent DLC races and upgrades; where for example Thorek Ironbrow can get easily get quarrellers to have 180+ missile damage, with excellent range. Never mind the unrivaled Skaven mechanics which hugely overlap the Druchii. I have not altered his combat abilities, HP or attack levels, or even the core T'zarkan mechanics. He was already arguably the strongest duellist, but one of the weakest Faction leaders / Army commanders.

Ultimately this was a small quick personal mod to make my favourite character more fun to play as, and I plan to supplement this with the other excellent mods there that can enhance an otherwise very underwhelming campaign.

Hi Jared, I'm not sure but I had a quick look at the mod and it seems like it mostly edits the Possession Mechanic which I have barely touched. Most of this mod is focused on the Campaign Faction and Leader mechanics of Malus Darkblade.

I've overwritten/nerfed Cold Ones upkeep from -50% to -10% upkeep to mitigate unintentionally making Cold One ScourgerunnerChariots free due to doubled up bonuses. Also pushed some other fixes.

Please let me know if you spot any other problems, thanks to Aleks8141 for feedback to date.

I've pushed an update there to fix some skills which weren't being implemented. There are some unintentional side-effects spotted also that I'd like to remove, like getting rid of some of the old faction traits/Leader skills around Cold Ones, or at least nerfing them. Otherwise, you could find chariot units for example may be totally and unintentionally free for Malus. I need to figure how to do that though, as this was a basic first mod to add some skills and traits, rather than editing existing.

@Aleks8141, thanks for letting me know. Can you confirm whether you ran the mod on its own or with any other kind of DE overhaul mod? I have it working on current campaigns with various mods but perhaps it's conflicting with a particular mod, or there's an issue in how the app was deployed. Thanks.
