This version is an upgrade to the Interceptor Class Frigate, which improves the hull and maneuverability of the ship. Can be used for a variety of roles such as mining, exploration and fighting. The Interceptor IV-class frigate was a commonly used starship in the Zann Consortium's naval forces. It was effective against starfighters and small capital ships. The Interceptor Four was an upgrade of the Interceptor-class frigate widely used by pirate forces, which was itself a modified Action VI transport.

With superior shielding and improved weaponry, as well as the "full salvo" missile capabilities that allowed the frigate to fire a barrage of missiles at its target, the Interceptor was a cheap, yet versatile, vessel. It also possessed powerful engines allowing it to reach extremely high sublight velocities for a vessel of its size. The ship's weakness was its lightly armored hull.
