ah nice touch, I should have explored even more. always good when there's extra optional things to find on top of a great puzzle

Vioray, there are two hidden areas in the map. One is behind the panel, with the button behind a wall, the one you found. The other is under the stairs. Inside the second one is a pedestal button that, when pressed, drops a Companion Cube for the player inside that area, but also drops a cube onto the button from the first area. That cube-only button opens a wall to reveal turrets in the second area, killing the player after they have received their Companion Cube.

simple but fun puzzle. what's with the hidden area near the first button? I reached it by shooting a portal through the crack in the diaganol wall. there's a cube-only button there behind a barrier but no apparent way to reach it

It's more of an easter egg, really. And the purpose was to be killed after the cube dropped.

okay, Companion Cube not needed, only a trap. do not like traps!

how do i get up from the pit whit the Companion Cube? Can't find any way out of there!
