KiwiRail DXC 5327

Description
DXC 5327 was built in 1976 by General Electric of the USA, originally numbered as DX 2631. Over the years, various modifications (such as the air-intakes or ‘chutes’ on each side) have resulted in the engine being reclassified as a DXC. She is still in service with KiwiRail today, and is now 45 years old.

On a personal note, 5327 was one of many DXCs I saw when I went to the South Island in November 2018.
