The Elder Scrolls - Valenwood - Elden Root

As the capitol of Valenwood, the Elden Root is located deep within the Grahtwood forests. Long ago, the Bosmer (Wood Elves) that inhabited these lands made a deal with their patron god - Y'ffre. A deal known as "the Green Pact". This pact would safeguard Bosmer in the forests from all threats, but only under one condition - they can never harm any tree or plant that grows within Valenwood.

This is why Bosmer resort to eating only meat, and have been known to resort to cannibalism as well at times, eating the flesh of their fallen foes. Without any lumber, their constructions are mostly skin and rope based.

Luckily, citizens of Elden Root do not have to resort to such barbaric tendencies because trade is strong in this crossroad. God Y'ffre has no problem with food or lumber imported from far away lands, thus Bosmer are reliant on other tribes of this region as a source of these supplies.
