The Stingray-class Corvette is a widely used vessel throughout the stars, originating as a light escort for civilian trading routes, but later proving very popular amongst the warring factions, due to its small compact design and relatively cheap standard cost. It would be very rare to see two identical Stingray-class, owing to it's versatility in the weapon ports being so easily retrofitted. Many choose to replace the basic turrets with Aryx or MEXPEX class cannons, though the offset is their reduced rate of fire. Militia owned ships, typically see an increase of weapon ports, mounted with additional M61 Vulcans, which have an unprecedented rate of fire, making them effective against numerous attackers, but are offset by their effectiveness against shielded capital ships, making their use of escort highly preferable.

The Broadside Rocket Launchers are a staple of the base design, offering a powerful punch of 5 rapid-fire missiles per side. Destroyer launchers, while they are homing capable, the payloads are larger, therefore only so many are carried per pod before reload is needed, therefore some owners chose to replace them with additional Broadside Launchers, though others have been know to increase lateral thrust by adding more Ion thrusters, or introducing hydrogen engines, as the conveyor network is already installed to the ports.

Many owners will stick to the vast amount of reactor-powered Ion engines, which can accelerate at an impressive rate, however there are those who would rather use the superior thrust of hydrogen, though the internal space limits the class to only one hydrogen tank, which can further necessitate an change in the 2 larger engine pods to carry more, decreasing the room for reverse thrust, also requiring an augment of the conveyor network.

The standard Class II and V Uranium Reactors, whilst are reliable, are highly volatile and if not maintained, radioactive. With relative ease, Class V reactor modules can be replaced with Deuterium or Azimuth class reactors, though more expensive, their power output is greatly increased, their upkeep is reduced, as is any direct hazard to lifeforms if they become damaged or rundown.
