[G.L.I] O-GD27 Eidolon S

O-GD27 or Oribital-Ground Deployable 27 Eidolon S was a fighter designed and built by the Golden Legion Industries for the Renation Army. The ship had an oribital classification which meant that it could only operate in space with close proximity to a supply hub and cannot operate inside normal gravity. The fighter was also designed to be deployed from ground based launch silos for orbit defense. Many of these launch silos were outfitted into Renation controlled planets as they offered cheap oribital fighter defence at the cost of response time compared to an oribital station.

The Eidolon S was designed to fill in the dedicated fighter role in the Renation Navy and was used till the end of the war after its adoption into the navy. Eidolon S were incredibly versitile, having a lot of firepower and mobility. They could easily acquire and neutralise enemy targets. They were also very easy to modify and some variatons had fire and forget missiles attached. The fighter was equipped with 12 forward facing gatling guns, 2 unguided rocket launchers and 2 gatling turrets while some variants also had guided missile launchers attached to them. After the war the fighters were still in use with the army and were making up the back bone of the Renation Fighter Corps. Around 259 of these S Classes were stolen during the raid on GLI space docks and most were sent to Resurgent testing facilities to figure out weaknesses. After significant testing by the resurgent facility personel, no notable weaknesses were found other than its presistence to overheat engines when used on full thrust. Nonetheless, an immediete counter for the vehicle was funded to be designed in the near future.
