Description
Very Large 1:3 Arid, Base Game Assets only, real world towns, with a mix of random and hand placed industries. Denver Colorado area to Salt Lake City & area.

The Wasatch & Southern Rocky Mountains, Northern Colorado, Wyoming & Eastern Utah. The home of Big Mountains, Big Skies, and Big Boys.

These mountains were and are a formidable challenge for railroading, just past the western edge of this map is where the Union Pacific Railway* and Central Pacific Railroad closed the gap forming one transcontinental route. But the laying of track was the easy part. This one grade has been home to the most powerful locomotives ever constructed with the simple goal of hauling massive amounts of freight over the long, hard grades then speeding across the plateaus as fast as possible to make up the time. This is where the Big Boy of fame and later the Union Pacific Turbines were built for; and you will find that you will need all of those horses to climb these grades.

(*Later one company in the Union Pacific Railroad; but that's too long of a story for here)

From Wikipedia:

The Wasatch Range (/ˈwɑːsætʃ/ WAH-satch) or Wasatch Mountains is a mountain range in the western United States that runs about 160 miles (260 km) from the Utah-Idaho border south to central Utah.[1] It is the western edge of the greater Rocky Mountains, and the eastern edge of the Great Basin region.[2] The northern extension of the Wasatch Range, the Bear River Mountains, extends just into Idaho, constituting all of the Wasatch Range in that state.

In the language of the native Ute people, Wasatch means "mountain pass" or "low pass over high range."[3][4] According to William Bright, the mountains were named for a Shoshoni leader who was named with the Shoshoni term wasattsi, meaning "blue heron".[5]

Whoops, nice catch!

FYI it's Evanston, not Evenston. Aside from that minor nit, nice map!

Updated, moved the steel mill in Evenston to make more room for tracks, added a couple more food & construction chains to smaller towns.

Oldhip I played it through with no issues, but I realised after talking with my brother that there were some issues, I am just one guy; I am not infallible :P

It's playable now, just needs a couple of tweaks :)

Update will be coming in the next couple of weeks to provide better industry distribution for the small mountain towns. I focused my development of industries a little bit too much on the Denver & Salt Lake ends.
