The Compensator

"It was too big to be called a coilgun. Massive, thick, heavy, and far too rough. Indeed, it was more like a heap of hafnia."

Excessive to the point of complete impracticality, the Compensator can project a 10 kilogram metglas projectile at a blistering 15.5 kilometers per second - which results in anything downrange having a very bad day. This would be an impressive feat if the weapon system wasn't more massive than a stock missile schooner, more expensive than a stock laser frigate, and ultimately less useful than either.

Requires the Community Materials Pack for the improved magnetic metal glass projectile.
