Pristine Coast

Description
Pristine Coast is a nearly untouched area somewhere in Europe. Due to the rugged mountains and the relative narrow valleys with raging rivers the area was never developed, but our ever expanding population is forcing human development into this coastal area.

I've made this map after not finding what I was looking for in the workshop; a natural looking coastal area, with as few as possible pre-built roads and rail, and no mods used whatsoever. So you'll find no extensive existing highway network. What you will find is this;

  • 3 highway connections just reaching into the playable area, the one in the starting tile has a simple connection to a roundabout that you can use to start your first roads from.
  • 3 rail connections just reaching into the playable area, the closest one being in a tile adjacent to the starting tile
  • 2 sea connections connecting to a shipping lane at the coast
  • 2 air connections connected to a circular airplane corridor
  • oil deposits (near the coast), ore deposits (occurring in a strip in the central area of the map, partly hidden under forest), fertile areas (usually found near the riverbed, or former riverbeds) and forest dotted around the map, reaching up to a natural tree line.
  • only 48% of treelimit used, so you'll have room for hand placing over 125.000 trees yourself
  • 2 main river systems, one ending in a small delta. (Warning: the rivers flow fast, and there are water spawners in the playable area of the river that I've put there for my own pleasure. This may lead to unexpected flow behavior when putting a lot of pumps in a single location of the river, like inverted flow direction.)
  • fairly flat but not completely level valleys suitable for building
  • a hopefully beautiful, natural looking surrounding, but I'll leave that up to your judgement

As a theme I used the Realistic V1.4.5 European theme , combined with Definite Vision LUT V1.3
I also made this map with the all 25 tiles unlocked mod in mind.
None of these are required to play, and no mods are needed to play this map, I only used vanilla assets when creating this map.

Let me know if you run into troubles using this map and I'll see if I can fix it, but please keep in mind that I mainly developed this map for myself to build on, so don't expect full support or changes in favor of gameplay that will take away from the realism of this map. I hope you'll enjoy the map, and if you do, please feel free to rate and/or comment!

Because I I was looking for the same thing in the workshop like you said in the description. Not necessarily as the only map for the rest of my life, but as a very nice variety.

And I noticed the smiley face in the resources map. :)

Thanks and keep up the good work.
