Description
(SV CPU Tier 3, Class 1, Unlock Level 12)

Primary roles: Light Gunship, Utility, Upgradable, Vanilla or Reforged Eden

Update 8/20/2021 - Replaced 2 unconnected cargo extensions with steel blocks. No other changes were made.

The Merc-MX4 is a light gunship that comes stock with some basics but is largely up to the player to add parts and weapons of choosing. It works in both Vanilla and Reforged Eden and each version of the game could have a very different outcome in parts used, weapons, cpu, power etc. This is why this ship was left largely bare bones.

Stock features

Stock it comes with 9K ammo storage, o2 and dispenser, wifi, armor locker, passenger seat, fridge, detector, spotlight, and 2 cargo boxes.

Upgrade options

The ship has many upgrade options and a LCD parts info screen in the ship. Here are a list of main parts that can be added.

1. More generators or RE only advanced generator
2. Shield, pentaxid tank
3. Additional CPU cores (RE 1 basic, 2 improved, 2 advanced, Vanilla 4 advanced)
4. Trauma station and long range radar (RE only)
5. Constructor
6. 9 3x3 turret mount points, 4 fixed weapon points

Features Summary:

1. CPU Tier 3, Size Class 1, Player unlock level 12
2. Vanilla and Reforged Eden,
3. Steel hull, 9 3x3 turret mount points, 4 fixed weapon mount points.
4. Locations for constructor, trauma station, generators, cpu blocks
5. Locations for shield and pentaxid tank
6. Fridge, o2 and dispenser, armor locker, 9K ammo storage, 2 cargo boxes
7. Spotlight with P menu control, passenger seat

I hope you enjoy!

Notes: Trying to not build a separate vanilla and reforged eden version, I had to leave off a lot of parts. I could not even include a turret as they end up being a totally different type between game versions. Also, CPU, thrust, and power are also wildly different. So I decided to strip the ship of a lot of what it was intended to have stock with the intent the player can config how they want and for either version of the game. This ship does not support a warp drive.

Because my creative skills extend to bricks and cider blocks, I used the MX-4 as my starting point. Thanks jrandall

Very good. It reminds me of the good ol' Keelback from ED.

@bad coffee - thx for the catch on the blocks above the seat. Works great now.

It happened to me with other SVs/HVs too. I think it is a game bug.

Just broke a bone getting out of the pilot seat, not cool!

Thank you All! Great info Jam140186 and bad coffee, hmm. I am not sure what is causing it but would suspect some changes again to the game. The block fix sounds like a good one. I will look at this and try to get the blueprint updated to avoid the issue. And thanks again all!

Was having Jam's issue too, think I've fixed it by removing the two interior shaped blocks directly over the pilot seat. Now I can exit the seat without breaking a leg.

Nice ship. Not sure whether it's the new version or not but keep getting stuck whenever I try to exit the pilots seat. Also randomly suffer fractures when landing ship. I think the issue is the cockpit is too tight and something about updates is glitching it.

Love the ship! Playing through with a comp buddy on a server with beefed up enemies; this one finally gave us what we needed to fight back after getting wrecked in the mx2

Absolutely love the upgradable blueprint, too. Looking forward to trying out your other stuff.

One thing we did differently with ours is tear out the roof near the rear access door, drop in a short ranged warp drive, and patch over the top. Plus moved the radar under the nose of the ship.

The jump drive is right where the original decorative section is, just forward of the rear turret.

Still looks super slick and it fits in perfectly

Great Ship, I painted mine dark grey, knocked out the roof to fit a shield and warp drive.
and changed a couple other things (cpu). I'll always keep one around for general shit.
