You can use my mods Choose Wild Animal Spawns: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2564042934
and Choose Wild Plant Spawns: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2564446762
to modify the biome to your liking.
Moist Deciduous Forest describes itself as "flora [...] abundant" and, well, "moist" and generates mostly between Tropical Rainforest and temperate biomes. But the maps generated are open with mainly bushes and a reasonable scattering of Drago trees.
This seems to me like the map generation is just the wrong way round between the two.
The Tundra and BorealForest patches for Erin's Mountain Animals in Biomes_Cold.xml need to be fixed/removed - the animals already have those biomes in their Defs and the patches cause ChooseWildAnimals to freak out because of the double key.
It would be cool to have a mod that focuses just on that, for two reasons : lighter maintenance and to avoid unnecessary compatibility issues.
At the time of this message, I'm already using a mod for water freezing purposes and other mods to add more "up to date" biomes, animals, vegetation, etc., that this mod probably is not compatible with simply because they didn't exist when it was released. This makes the rest of the mod less desirable to me.
I'm a firm believer in KISS, keep it simple and sweet, and I think this case again demonstrates the validity of this principle for mods. This mod is good, and for the "realistic biome distribution" part even much needed and unique. I hope it will receive the attention it deserves once the author returns, or someone else takes it under their wing.
As you can see on the graph, biome generation depends on rainfall level and temperature. If there is no place on the planet that matches the requirements, that biome cannot be spawned. Try to generate the same seed with different rainfall and temperature levels. If you cannot find any temperate swamp even on highest rainfall level, than it might be a mod conflict.
I can assure you this mod can generate Temperate Swamp if no other mod is present and the right rainfall/temperature is chosen.
