MAAT-86 "Bellatrix" Medium Assault Tank

The first foray into tank design of the at the time newly founded "Chaplain East", the Bellatrix features an unconventional layout with a unique goal in mind; carrying troops into battle while bringing the the firepower of a tank with them. This ambitious plan resulted in a vehicle which while technically being classed as a medium tank had the length of a super heavy, and needed a similar amount of engine power to meet the wanted speed. Despite this, the vehicle boasts a rapid firing main cannon in an advanced (for its time) turret design, along with an impressive amount of frontal armour, making it very resistant to incoming fire, ideal for its use in frontal assaults. The rear also features a partially enclosed infantry compartment with two machine guns, another two located in full turrets at the front. While it provides adequate protection, passengers are practically required to wear a gas mask due to the intense exhaust fumes produced by the oversized engine, making it unpopular with the common soldiers. While generally seen as a dead-end design, the turret of the Bellatrix, with a few modifications, would go on to serve on the now legendary Valerie medium tank, continuing its legacy well into the later war.

This craft is built for World War Neter, and may not be practical for use in the default campaign. That said, it is fully functional and could be refit to be campaign practical.
