Description
AMERICA (ABRAHAM LINCOLN)
Unique Trait: A House Divided
Choose a unique bonus upon the outbreak of war with a major Civilization. During war, captured Great Generals have a chance to convert to your side.

Unique Unit: Monitor
The Monitor is the unique replacement for the Ironclad for America under Abraham Lincoln. Unlike the Ironclad, the Monitor is a Ranged Naval Unit, although with a limited Range by default. However, when the Monitor begins its turn adjacent to a River tile, its Range increases to 3 Tiles. However, while it is more effective against cities, it is less effective against enemy Naval Units. It is also slightly slower than the Ironclad. Use Monitors to support your land armies in capturing enemy cities built near Rivers.

Unique Unit: Parrott Rifle
The Parrott Rifle is the unique Cannon replacement for America under Abraham Lincoln. Although it is weaker in combat against cities, it receives a +50% Combat Bonus against Land Units. This bonus is doubled to +100% if the unit begins its turn on a Fort or Citadel. This makes the Parrott Rifle adept at defending any tenuous borders.
PATCHNOTES
  • v3
  • HR preference is now Baptist.
  • Updated Civ icon to match the in-game colours, thanks to DarthKyofu.
  • Lincoln's wartime bonuses are now on-time immediate bonuses for currently active Units. Thus it is now stackable if you go to war whilst already at war (the strength of the bonuses decrease per active war). Any bonuses are also retained for the receiving units if peace is made on the given turn.
  • Added three additional options for unique wartime bonuses.
  • The Parrott Rifle now replaces the Field Gun with EE and receives a different icon.
  • Parrott Rifle now receives double its Combat bonus vs Land Units when stationed on a Fort or Citadel instead of providing a defensive bonus to adjacent units.
  • Monitor is now a Ranged Unit with 1 Range by default, increasing to 3 when stationed adjacent to a River tile. It is now slower but no longer costs more to build. It is also weaker in the defense and weaker when fighting Naval Units (but retains its bonus vs Cities is increased to +50% (from 33%).
  • Civ is now called America to reflect modern America civ mods.
  • Leader is now Abraham Lincoln (instead of just Lincoln) to reflect modern whatever those things that aren't monarchs are called.
  • Added distinct Spy list.
  • Depreciated outdated and non-standard mod support.
  • Updated CulDiv support to use the unique sub Colonial American culture.
  • Fixed issue where the AI did not properly receive one of the wartime bonuses.
  • Various text, supports, and code standardizations/optimizations.
  • Fixed black outlines on Civ Icon and Unit Flag alphas (where applicable).
  • Fixed issue where the ambience in the leaderscene overwrote the music (where applicable).

To fix the UA, go to JFD_Civs_AmericaLincoln_Functions.lua, in Line 237 change 'elseif' to 'if'

You’re not alone. I’m also having issues with it.

Does anyone know if this mod actually functions? I tried multiple different games as Lincoln wherein I declared war on another civ or had war declared on me and never once got any ability to choose a bonus. I just don't think the UA is working at all, unless I'm massively misunderstand how its supposed to work

Great job on this mod, JFD! The Monitor class is brilliantly done. My only issue is with the Investors jacking up my building maintenance by building Seaports and Harbors where I have no need for them. Is there a way to toggle production of Investor buildings in individual cities?

Did not see a something to choose. The enemy had 3 cities - I had 2.
What do you mean with "major".

Is there supposed to be a war bonus popup?

I can only choose a wartime bonus if AI declared me a war but not if I declare war. Is this OK? The description does not dell us that it makes a difference who declares war.
