Description
Aegis-class Assault Destroyer Mark-II

Ship Details


The Aegis was developed to replace the older Hermes class Destroyers. Designed with speed, firepower, and range in mind. She is designed as a Squadron Leader. Capable of jumping 2 Mk2 Light Corvettes with her at a range of 3000km, she is able to support Kushan, Stingray, and Mk2's in a Leader Capacity. She is also the only Capital ship in the UEF that is Rated for Atmospheric Entry above 0.75G.

The Aegis, named as the shield of Athena which was gifted to Jason, is also designed to work heavily with the Athena, Perseus, and Jason classes of the UEF. She fills a role necessary for a fast vessel with a long jump range. She is very well liked by her crews as she is considered spacious by most fleet standards as she is designed for long range operations for extended periods of time as well as freighter and convoy escort duties.

She is lightly armored but has a blistering amount of firepower for her size. Capable of shredding an enemy Corvette within seconds she is not to be underestimated. Recently updated with UEF Logo LCD's and General Quarters Alarm on ship.

Due to her ability for Atmospheric Entry, and capable of handling Pertam, the UEF has begun postponing additional Jason-class Light Cruisers for more Aegis Destroyers, and with the addition of the Mk2 they have begun to push further into occupied enemy space.

The Mk2 adds in newly developed Defense Shields, 122mm Guns for mid sized targets such as Frigates and Corvettes, maintains her 4x Shredder Defense Turrets but adds in additional Point Defense Guns for more close range defense. The NPC Mod makes her fare better in Atmosphere.

Salt Squad Mod Pack 5 and 2 are OKI's Weapons and Mexpex Industries balanced and adjusted on damage, updated sound files that I added from actual naval gun fire for OKI, and a few other times. You can run the ship with your own OKI/Mexpex mods as they are the same models/scripts other than minor tweaking.

NPC Android Crew is not required, it's just there for added power/thrust/gyro to make the ship more agile. None of the scripts on the ship are on the Crew so not loading it with it will not cause any issues.

Sci-fi Images Mod just lets me use a lot more images for the Sci-fi Buttons which makes labeling far better, but you can go without it and it will just remove those images off the LCD screens on the button panels.
