Atmospheric VLC 187

The VLC 187 (Vertical Lift Craft with 187 blocks) is a true single-engine atmospheric aircraft designed for simlpicity. If you can learn to fly a single engine on a handfull of parts, you're in the air earlier in game. I think this is a huge advantage for finding ore and scouting the local terrain.

This is a great 1st ship if you want to learn to fly a single-engine.

This aircraft is flown solely by gyro; think "Helicopter". When you hit that space bar it will LEAP into the air, so go slow. Tilt it in the general direction you want to go, and let gravity and inertial dampeners do all the work! Start out with making slight movements, and keep an eye on your instrument cluster. It'll click for you eventually.

You'll probably put it on its side a few times; be patient and wreck a few of them.

There is no need to be super accurate when landing; there's no connector block to line up. There is a hinge part on the left side for charging, so just bring a service vehicle to the aircraft, wherever you managed to set it down.

I find single engine flight in SE to be fun and rewarding! I hope that this little ship will help introduce more folks to single engine flight. If you enjoy the challenge, you'll eventually be able to set this down anywhere you want and bring it to a hover at will.
