CN GP35 2-Pack

Description
Motor City Models (in collaboration with Cyber) proudly presents the new CN GMD GP35 2-Pack!
This is a livery of DW's GMD spec GP35 in both CN's old black-red scheme, and their iconic "zebra" stripe scheme.
Shout out to Cyber for making the livery as well!

Information on the EMD GP35

Built between 1963 and 1965, the GP35 was a 4-axle road switching locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division (or EMD). It was fitted with a EMD-made 567D3A 16-Cylinder diesel engine, cranking out 2,500 Horsepower (or 1,860 kW), roughly 1,334 GP35's were sold in total, 1,251 were made for American railroads, 26 for Canadian railroads, and 57 were sold to Mexican railroads. Many of the GP35s made and sold were actually Alco FA and EMD F-Unit trade ins, where the railroads gave EMD F-Units or Alco FA locmotives to EMD to be remade into GP35s using their parts, and as a result, some have Alcos distinct AAR trucks, a good example of a railroad that did this was the Ann Arbor Railroad. These engines were one of the better ones EMD produced and were the basis for the GP40 and GP38 to come later in time. Many railroads have gone out of their way to preserve these engines, and some examples include Conway Scenics ex-N&W GP35 High Hood, WAMX's ex-Wabash 3533, and Savanna & Atlanta's ex-Southern GP35 High Hood.

Information on CN 4000 and 4001
As mentioned before, 26 of EMD's GP35s saw the Canadian Market and landed a spot on said railroads. the thing is not all of these went to one company, 24 went to Canadian Pacific Railway, and 2 went to Canadian National. These 2 on CN would become 4000 and 4001. Right from the start, 4000 and 4001 were extraordinarily rare engines within CN rosters, as by the time CN received these 2 engines; General Motors Division (or EMD's Canadian Subsidiary) was already making the superior successors of the GP35, the GP38 and GP40. Despite being the so called "rare birds" on the roster, they did see use on the railroad side by side with their successors. The engines actual specs were on par with most of CN's GMD-spec locomotives, vertical rear headlights, cab-mounted bell, and nose mounted lights. But unlike CN's GMD-spec locomotives, had EMDs standard nose mounted classification lights (instead of GMD's above-number board classification lights), and lacked snow shields. Thanks to their natural obscurity along CNs roster, they worked silently up into the late 1980's before being renumbered to 9301 and 9300 respectively and then later being scrapped and being placed Madak Metals in Selkirk, MB, Canada. Wether the engines still remain there or have been fully scrapped remains unknown.
